At least, we can come to such a conclusion having analyzed new vacancies on the developers’ website. At the moment, ZA/UM studio needs different technical and art employees. To all appearances, the future title by famous Estonian developers will be released on Unreal Engine 5.

The Estonian studio ZA/UM website revealed hints about their next game. Apparently, the creators of the highly acclaimed Disco Elysium are making a game about space.

It follows from a recently published vacancy. For example, the studio hires at the moment Environment Concept Artist. Thus, the description indicates that an experienced specialist must be able to create and visualize new worlds, unusual and fantastic things, and love science fiction and space.

The team also needs a Lead Environment Artist. One of the key requirements is the experience with Unreal Engine 5. At the same time, the potential candidate must also be proficient with Unreal Engine 4. The specialist will guide and advise the expanding team of artists.

Well, from all of the above, we can conclude the following. Disco Elysium creators are currently working on a space-themed sci-fi game. The project itself apparently will be created on Unreal Engine 5. Along with this, the authors are looking for other team members. Perhaps, the most interesting of other vacancies presented on the website is “Sales and Monetization Specialist”. One of the primary responsibilities of the candidate is the ability to “create new opportunities in monetisation, deliver actionable recommendations”. We should not exclude that either this sci-fi project or some other will contain elements of monetization.

Disco Elysium is the studio’s debut project. The game was released in October 2019. In the aftermath, at The Game Awards, the game collected 4 awards. At the moment, “around 65 writers, artists, developers and producers” are working in the company. You can also read the review of the game made by my colleague. The game is available on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
