Dragon Ball Z Kakarot DLC Goes Into Trunks’ Timeline

Bandai Namco has released a trailer regarding the third expansion of its action role-playing game Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. It will be titled "Trunks - Warrior of Hope", based off of the anime special "History of Trunks" that was originally released in 1993, and is expected to hit consoles sometime during the summer.

Dragon Ball Z Kakarot DLC Goes Into Trunks' Timeline cover

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is getting its third and final DLC episode based on Trunks’ timeline and his battle with the Androids and Cell.

This information was made available yesterday after Bandai Namco released the trailer that shows parts of the upcoming DLC that are very faithful to the original material.

The “History of Trunks” anime episode (or “Defiance in the Name of Despair”, as it was known in Japan) was released back in 1993 and depicted the young Saiyan’s tragic backstory. He was one of the last remaining warriors in his timeline that had the superhuman strength to stand up to the killing machines. Trunks himself made his first appearance in anime episode 119, “The Mysterious Youth”.

Other than the information regarding the story, there wasn’t any other information released regarding any new battle modes or options. Yet, the trailer does end with the promise that we won’t need to wait too long for this third and final DLC to come out. According to Bandai Namco, the Trunks – Warrior of Hope episode will become available later this summer.

SSJ4 GOGETA COMING TO DRAGON BALL FIGHTERZ

Apart from the news about DBZ: Kakarot, Bandai Namco had updates regarding some of their other titles based on the highly popular franchise.

More specifically, they announced the character with whom they will be closing out Pass 3 of Dragon Ball FighterZ. SSJ4 Gogeta will be making his debut on March 12, but those who have already pre-purchased Pass 3 will have access to the character two days earlier. SSJ4 Gogeta will have an impressive array of moves at his disposal and will be a level 7 warrior. His ultimate attack (Big Bang Kamehameha) will be strong enough to end a fight with a single blow. His moves will be quite different from his SSJB counterpart, making for a quite interesting battle between them.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 will also see the release of its legendary pack one on March 18, while Bandai Namco stated that the second would be coming sometime this fall.
