Daedalic Entertainment Drops New LOTR Gollum Trailer

Daedalic Entertainment unveiled a new LOTR Gollum Trailer at the 2021 Game Awards. The action-adventure is a story-driven experience based on The Lord of the Rings novels by J.R.R. Tolkien. You may also recall that back in January, the game was delayed to 2022. Daedalic then joined forces with NACON on the project in order to ensure it meets fan expectations. The game is planned to come to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. It is also already listed on Steam, with a release date of “Lurking until the time is right”.

LOTR Gollum tells a new “untold story” within The Lord of the Rings world. The game sees Gollum hunting for his precious. Agility, stealth, and cunning will be crucial, as he must climb, jump, and grapple his way to the prize. He’ll need to sneak around monsters or kill them in creative ways. The player’s actions determine whether his darker side will take over, or a remaining fragment of sanity will take hold. Gollum’s new adventure was first teased last year.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum | A Split Personality - Cinematic Trailer

The new LOTR Gollum trailer also has a quick synopsis included in its video description, which provides a bit more detail:

“Take on a perilous journey as Gollum, chasing the only thing that is precious to him. From his time as a slave below the Dark Tower to his stay with the Elves of Mirkwood, climb, leap, and sneak your way past dangers. Skillful and sly, Gollum is also torn by his split personality. It is up to you to decide whether the darker side of Gollum takes over or if there is a spark of reason left in what once was Sméagol.”
