Cyberpunk 2077 has come a long way since its initial release in 2020. The game had one of the roughest launches in video game history, suffering from game-breaking bugs despite an exceptionally long development time and the game’s numerous delays. Fast forward to 2022 now and the game is far better than it once was, with CD Projekt Red working exceptionally hard to restore the game back to the developer’s original vision. The latest 1.6 update further improves the game, but most players may not have noticed this one silent change that was left out of the official patch notes. Here is everything you need to know.
Console Receives Keyboard and Mouse Support in 1.6 Update
The change was initially found by Reddit user u/PurpleMessi, who hooked up his keyboard and mouse to his Xbox. Other members of the community have since confirmed this new change, though this new input support is incredibly limited as players have no control over key bindings. Instead, players must make use of the default settings.
Further clarification was also offered by CDPR on their official Discord server:
it’s not full and official support though we added some changes and tweaks that can help with m+K, but there are no settings for it, and it’s not guaranteed that it will work 100% and all the time, hence why we are not supporting it officially and we are not listing those changes
Unfortunately, Playstation users are unable to play Cyberpunk 2077 via mouse and keyboard on their PS5 consoles. However, Xbox players can now reap the benefits of added precision offered by utilizing a mouse for aiming.
