With each new iteration of The Legend of Zelda, Nintendo typically recreates and reimagines the iconic kingdom of Hyrule. However, it seems that the untitled Breath of the Wild sequel will feature a similar playable area to the original.

In an interview with Game Informer’s Brian Shae, Aonuma explained that the team isn’t quite finished uncovering the mysteries of the world they created back in 2017.

Aonuma: One of the reasons we wanted to create a continuation was because I wanted to revisit that Hyrule again and use that world again, while incorporating new gameplay and new story.

Aonuma also confirmed in the same interview that Hidemaro Fujibayashi, Breath of the Wild‘s director, would be coming back to lead the sequel.
