Zeraora is an Electric-type Pokémon with a primarily feline design; somewhat like a yellow-er mix between a Luxray and a Lucario. It stands at 4’11” and weighs in at 98.1 lb, and is dubbed the Thunderclap Pokémon. It’s streamline yet rough appearance may indicate towards very speedy and scrappy gameplay strategies, which would be benefited by its ability, Volt Absorb, and its powerful signature attack: Plasma Fists.
The short trailer above only shows off Zeraora’s in-game model, but no attacks. However, this came hot on the heels of another trailer (can be seen below) for the upcoming feature film: Pokémon the Movie: Everyone’s Story. This is the twenty-first Pokémon movie, following on from an alternate timeline started in Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You. The brief glimpse of Zeraora seen in that trailer (at this point, a largely unknown Pokémon) implies he’ll have an important role, but most likely not be a legendary Pokémon, reminiscent of Lucario’s role in ‘Lucario and the Mystery of Mew’ and Zoroark in ‘Zoroark: Master of Illusions’.
The addition of Zeraora now brings the total number of Pokémon up to 807. While no details are available at present, Zeraora will be coming to Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon, which are currently out now for Nintendo 3DS.
