Razer made a showing alongside Fossil at CES today, revealing it’s new smartwatch. The wearable tech market is competitive, with companies like Apple and Samsung throwing down for the majority of the market. This isn’t Razer’s first foray into wearables, having released the Nabu smartband and watch lines back in 2015. The new Razer x Fossil Gen 6 drops 10 January 2022 at 8AM PST.
Niche devices like this Razer watch are finding footholds in this market as it expands, offering not only smart watches but smart glasses as well. Obviously, this watch is geared towards gamers. Sadly, they are only making 1337 Razer x Fossil watches, so many Razer enthusiasts might be out of luck on this one. This does not mean that we won’t see more collaborations between the 2 companies, or even Razer doing another smart watch without Fossil.
What do you think about this collaboration? The wearable technology market doesn’t appear to be going anywhere, and this isn’t the first smartwatch targeting gamers specifically, so we may very well see more of this kind of partnership in the future. It runs on Google’s Wear OS, gives you a couple of exclusive faces and straps to choose from. Other than that, it does not appear to have any other dissimilarities to the regular Fossil Gen 6 watches.
