Battlefield V's Battle Royale Mode Set To Launch In 2019
Electronic Arts and EA DICE have revealed that Battlefield V’s Battle Royale mode, called Firestorm, will not be arriving until March 2019. This will be four months after the World War II shooter officially launches in November.

In a recent post on the EA website, DICE have stated Firestorm will be added in the third Chapter of the product’s live service, Tides of War, in Spring:

‘‘During spring, DICE and Criterion start the fire with Battlefield V’s battle royale experience. Firestorm elevates the mode by bringing in the best of what Battlefield is known for. Mix a shrinking playing field with trademark Battlefield elements such as team play, powerful vehicles, and destruction, and you get many unique Battlefield moments coming your way.’’

Along with the new Firestorm mode in Chapter 3, comes a new Greece map where players can join ‘‘a massive aerial invasion along the Cretan coast.’’ This map is said to bring ‘‘all-out war’’ which will be ‘defined by a power struggle between tank control versus air superiority.’’

The other two Chapters in the Tides of War post-launch content updates include Chapter 1, Overture and Chapter 2, Lightning Strikes. With Overture beginning in early December/January and bringing the Panzerstorm map, a new single-player War Stories mission and the Practice Range. Players will also have the chance to customise their vehicles in this Chapter.

Lightning Strikes will commence later in January. Players can expect the focus to be on ‘‘vehicle warfare and rapid infantry movement.’’ The second Chapter in Tides of War will add a co-op Combined Arms mode, a Squad Contest mode along with a revamped Rush mode.

All Chapters will feature weekly events and rewards. Each event will bring a series of challenges that let players earn Tides of War rewards. There will also be chapter ranks which can be levelled up and these can also net players some valuable rewards.

Battlefield V releases worldwide on November 20th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
