Only a few days from the official start of E3 2019, a slew of unannounced Bandai Namco games have surfaced online. Gematsu reports that a “publicly accessible URL” containing information on these titles has appeared on Bandai Namco’s servers due to a security error. While the publisher did its best to remove that information quickly, the leaked info has nonetheless begun spreading across the internet. You can find details on all the leaked games rounded up below.
Not long ago, we reported on a report that Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin was working together with From Software to create a new RPG. It turns out that this early report was correct. This project is a fantasy action RPG called Elden Ring, and it takes place in a world created by Martin and Dark Souls creator Hidetaka Miyazaki. The game will release for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Not much more information is available yet, although we do have the game’s logo, which you can see above. At any rate, the mere concept of this collaboration is thrilling, so hopefully we’ll see more of the game in the coming days.
TALES OF ARISE
Tales of Arise, a brand-new entry in the popular Tales of series of roleplaying games, is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. This game is built in Unreal Engine 4 and aims to provide “stunning visuals,” a goal that it certainly seems to achieve based on the gorgeous screenshot above.
The game tells the story of two people from different planets who seek to challenge the oppressive world order that they find themselves in. Gameplay promises a new take on the Tales series’ signature action combat system that is brought to life with high-end animation from the popular anime studio, ufotable. Based on the few bits of information revealed here, Tales of Arise already looks like an impressive step forward for this long running franchise.
NI NO KUNI: WRATH OF THE WHITE WITCH REMASTERED
One of the PS3’s most notable Japanese RPGs was Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, an RPG developed by Level 5 with artistic direction from the acclaimed anime creators at Studio Ghibli. This title is now being remastered for PS4, Xbox One, and PC with improved visuals and performance. The game is also coming to the Nintendo Switch, but this version doesn’t seem to include the remaster’s enhancements. Regardless, the opportunity for more gamers to experience one of the great RPGs of the past generation is exciting.
These are all the major leaked announcements that Bandai Namco had planned to reveal at E3 that we currently know of. Although we now know the major details about these games, there’s still plenty of information left to be revealed, so it’ll be exciting to see these games in action next week. It’s currently unknown which E3 conference will officially unveil these games, but Microsoft’s conference on June 9th seems like the best bet as of now.
