After allegations of him having extramarital affairs have emerged, Ashraf Ismail decided to step down from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla‘s production. The tweet is as follows:
In this Tweet, he didn’t specify the reason for his stepping down. Going in a roundabout way of saying he’s going to “properly deal with the personal issues in my life”. This leaves us to speculate about the main reason. The most popular one being the aforementioned extramarital affairs. A little bit of digging lead me to a tweet by Twitter user @matrondea:
This person is married. When he starts a relationship with you, know he's married. This is why he doesn't want to talk on the phone or facetime or have things sent to his home. His marriage has been confirmed by 3 people. I was with him for a year on and off before finding out. pic.twitter.com/eomqLCXZTu

The tweet shows screenshots of her conversation with Ismail. More screenshots are posted in a follow up tweet. Ubisoft has shown deep concern about sexual allegations against multiple employees. The Games Industry has recently been vocal about sexual harassment and more people are speaking up about their experiences. It seems that the Games Industry has a ways to go dealing with sexual harassment.
