For those who have seen The Falcon and The Winter Soldier this news comes as no surprise. And according to Deadline, the deal with Marvel has been officially closed. Meaning, fans will finally be able to see him take on the mantle on the big screen.
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’s first season was at it’s core, a season following the journey of Sam Wilson taking up the title of Captain America. At the conclusion of the show, he was all suited up and ready to get to work. Naturally, many assumed he would lead the upcoming Captain America. However, it is still yet to be confirmed if costar Sebastian Stan will be reprising his role of as Bucky Barnes in the film.
What we now about the film so far
Not many details about the upcoming film have been released, as is the way with the MCU. However, we do know some of the people who will be working on the film. The film is being scripted by The Falcon and the Winter Soldier creator and head writer Malcolm Spellman. One of the series’ staff writers, Dalan Musson, will also be working on the project. However, no director has been announced for the project yet.
And while many are speculating a return to the MCU for Chris Evan’s, this film will not be where we will see the return.
“This is not believed to be the top-secret project tipped by my colleague Justin Kroll that might bring Chris Evans back into the fold,” according to Deadline.
Currently, Captain America 4 still has no offical release date. However, you can catch The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney+ now.
