Aside from all the different announcements in the rest of this packed week, the PC Gaming Show 2022 adds way more cool indies and interesting experiments to the lineup, as well as some big AAA titles. The event included all kinds of trailers, teasers, and even exclusive developer interviews! Get ready, because we have way too many games to look into today. Let’s see all of the announcements made during the event!
Soulstice
Soulstice is an action game by Reply Game Studios, which also developed the cult classic Joe Dever’s Lone Wolf. The new title got the event started with yet another new trailer as it gets closer to release. We’re getting it in only a few months from now!

Rotwood
This action brawler where you fight bugs in a forest by Klei, the same developers of Don’t Starve and Don’t Starve Together, looks interesting enough for fans to get excited.

Tactical Breach: Wizards
Tactical Breach: Wizards is a Real-time Strategy game that puts magical abilities and potions in focus instead of just futuristic weaponry. The developers are planning the campaign to be story-focused and around 8 hours in length. While it’s still early in development, the game’s combat already seems interesting.

The Invincible
The PC Gaming Show revealed the first gameplay footage of The Invincible, a 3D story-focused sci-fi adventure game. The nearly 6-minute gameplay trailer goes into the game’s exploration gameplay and suspenseful, lush outer space environment.

Endless Dungeon
We got another trailer for Endless Dungeon, a rogue-lite co-op shooter from the Endless franchise. This trailer’s focus was on announcing a beta that you can try participating in by using the link provided in the video.

F1 Manager 2022
F1 Manager 2022 will even let you know what tires your pilots will use and use real-time radio commands to help them, aside from using skills and other management mechanics.

Chivalry 2
Chivalry 2 just got Tenosian Invasion, a new expansion that adds a whole new faction to the already packed multiplayer title. The Tenosian Empire offers new shields, mounts, constructibles, and weapon skins.

Deceive Inc.
This retrofuturistic multiplayer FPS merges prop-hunt with spy gameplay. Deceive Inc. looks complex and stylish, almost like an indie take on Deathloops’s environmental art style.

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn Scorn (PC Gaming Show 2022 Extra Announcement)
Flintlock already got a trailer in the Xbox and Bethesda Gaming Showcase, but that didn’t stop the developers from giving us a closer look into what’s going on in this beautiful action title.

The Alters
From the developers of Children of Morta and Frostpunk, The Alters is an experimental survival game with a lot of suspense surrounding it. For now, we know about the clones and the giant, moving living facility the protagonist lives in.

Outriders Worldslayer
Square Enix and People Can Fly’s looter-shooter Outriders got another showing of its new trailer for the Worldslayer expansion together with a release date. Worldslayer seeks to expand the mystical elements tenfold while providing hours of extra content. Who doesn’t love it when fantasy and sci-fi mix?

Potion Craft
This charming indie game about making and selling potions is getting out of early access this year. Potion Craft became a hit when it first launched in Early Access, both because of its in-depth potion crafting system and the charming medieval visuals.

Animal Royale Season 4
The cutesy battle-royale game Animal Royale is getting a new season soon, although the trailer didn’t specify the additions apart from a giant mole.

Nitro Kid
Nitro Kid is a card-based strategy indie with a lot of personality, visually inspired by games like Hotline Miami and Chroma Squad.

Mahokenshi
Mahokenshi is also a card-based game, but it’s set in a fictional ancient China. It looks both expansive and complex.

Killing Floor 2 – Tidal Terror
Killing Floor 2 is getting another big update, and it’s set on a boat. That’s pretty cool. The base game already includes so many maps, weapons and kinds of zombies that the additions are overwhelming but nonetheless welcome to the game’s still healthy community.

Arma 4 developer interview (PC Gaming Show 2022 Exclusive Announcement)
After the release of the spin-off Arma Reforger, the developers at Bohemia Interactive shared more information on Arma 4 while explaining what they learned from developing the spin-off.

Northgard Expansion and Co-op
This popular 2018 RTS game will get both a new expansion and co-op, which will make it fresh as new for both returning and new players alike.

Abyssals
Abyssal is a survival colony sim set in the depths of the ocean. It’s not often that we see a strategy game with strong horror elements, but that only makes the announcement more interesting.

Decarnation
Decarnation is a retro horror indie that looks both spooky and… cute? The PC Gaming Show 2022 Announcement of the game showcased multiple enemies and even what looks like a boss encounter.

I Am Future
The cinematic trailer for I Am Future looks gorgeous, and it sets up more of the wasteland of the world that we’ll be farming in and rebuilding little by little when we get to play it this year.

Great Houses of Calderia
Great Houses of Calderia is a medieval grand strategy game based around controlling people from different generations of the same family, which gives me an excuse to mention Agarest: Generations of War. Calderia doesn’t seem to focus on combat though, since most of the gameplay will be around managing politics.

Jurassic World Evolution 2 Dominion Biosyn Expansion
Jurassic World Evolution 2, Jurassic Park‘s popular strategy game, got a new trailer for its expansion alongside a release date. Dominion Biosyn will feature a brand-new campaign, new features like resource mining in caves and much more.

System Shock
This new trailer for the highly anticipated remake (that kind of looks like a reboot) of the classic System Shock franchise shows Shodan’s unsettling voice and some more gameplay. While we don’t have a release date yet, Nightdive Studios’ Larry Kuperman said the game is “largely complete” in the developer interview, so we can probably expect it to launch this year.

Falling Frontier
Falling Frontier is a sci-fi game that doesn’t offer much information as of its PC Gaming Show 2022 Announcement, but it does look nice.

Super People
The multiplayer competitive action of Super People doesn’t have to wait that much longer to get it’s final release, since it’s getting a final beta in August. The CG trailer shows a variety of characters and weapons fighting in slow-mo.

Immortality
By cult indie developer Sam Barlow (Her Story, Telling Lies), Immortality is a mystery FMV game that ended up being one of the most interesting games at the whole event, and it’s arriving sooner rather than later.

Nivalis
Nivalis is a gorgeous cyberpunk game full of big cityscapes and customization.

Demonschool
Demonschool is one of the most exciting games from the showcase. It’s a strategy RPG from the indie studio Necrosoft. It features Persona-like social mechanics, an incredibly beautiful art style, and some great tunes to boot.

Scorn (PC Gaming Show 2022 Extra Announcement)
After receiving an Xbox Gaming Showcase trailer, Scorn got a deeper dive at the PC Gaming Show 2022.

Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2 (PC Gaming Show 2022 Exclusive Announcement)
Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2 got an insightful 5-minute developer interview at the event. The developers explain how the sequel relates to the first game, the new enemies, and how the Gears of War-inspired combat will be faster-paced this time.

Agent 64: Spies Never Die
This (very) Goldeneye 007-inspired indie FPS looks interesting, and it even seems to merge that game’s mechanics with Perfect Dark‘s more in-depth objectives.

Deliver Us Mars‘s sci-fi platforming-focused adventure gameplay is showcased beautifully with a new trailer.

Stormgate
The RTS game got another development update, together with a first look. It’s going to be both a competitive game and a live service. Yeah, it’s also free-to-play.

Laysarra: Summit Kingdom is a colony-sim game where you build entire cities atop beautiful mountains.

Frozen Flame
This open-world survival RPG with a lot of action has lots of mythology influences and looks rather nice.

Victoria 3
Victoria 3 is a grand strategy game set in victorian Europe that seeks to give players even more freedom in deciding the politics of their nation than in the previous installments.

Gloodwood / New Blood Interactive showcase (PC Gaming Show 2022 Exclusive Announcement)
The cult indie publisher New Blood made multiple rapid-fire updates and announcements for Amid Evil: The Black Labyrinth, Fallen Aces, Ultrakill Chapter 2, FAITH: The Unholy Trinity, and Dusk HD. After all of that, they showed the final Gloomwood trailer before it releases on Early Access soon. Gloomwood is a Thief-inspired Immersive Sim that looks packed with features that would make any fan of the genre excited.

Backfirewall
Backfirewall got a comedic and intriguing meta trailer that spends more time poking fun at the concept of game trailers than pitching the game, which honestly says more about it than a regular trailer ever could. It looks incredible. Backfirewall is coming this year.

Norland is a simulator game with way more gore than anyone could anticipate considering the cute art style. The PC Gaming Show 2022 Announcement trailer depicts an unstable kingdom filled with infights.

Them’s Fighting Herds 3.0
This furry fighting game that’s honestly extremely good got a big update with updated supers and multiple balance changes. It’s quite rare for a sprite-based game to have these kinds of complicated animations for supers, so it means that the developers really put some effort into making them.

Corekeeper Sunken Sea Update
This new big update for Corekeeper looks pretty relaxing and is curiously sea-focused like many other announcements in the event.

Fartherst Frontier
Farthest frontier is a city-building game about rebuilding a new city with your people in a new, untamed region of the world. Even though the trailer didn’t reveal a release date, the game’s steam page shows that it’s coming in 2022 on Steam Early Access.

Synergy
Colony sim fans are eating well today. Synergy‘s trailer shows a sci-fi take on the genre with a stylish cel-shaded art style in the vein of Sable.

Icarus Styx DLC (PC Gaming Show 2022 Extra Announcement)
RocketWerkz’s ambitious match-based survival game Icarus got a trailer highlighting its recently released Styx map pack.

Half-Life: Alyx Levitation
This mod for Valve’s 2019 VR hit Half-Life Alyx is one of the most impressive ever made. The trailer shows a bit of the 4-5 hour campaign of the mod, which looks unbelievably polished. The nearly 8-minute showcase goes into the fast-paced combat, immersive puzzles, and even an escape sequence.

That was it for the PC Gaming Show 2022!
Well, that was a lot of games, almost 50 of them. A lot of these games are due in 2023, which is shaping up to be a big year for gaming like 2017 was before it. While the other shows like SGF and the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase had some great announcements as well, I can’t help but love the staggering amount of smaller-budget games we got in the PC Gaming Show this year. These smaller titles give developers way more liberty to work on exactly the kind of game they want, without trying to make the appeal as general as possible. Personally, my favorite game announcements from the event were as follows: Demonschool, Immortality, Backfirewall, Gloomwood, and Them’s Fighting Herds 3.0 update.
