Persona 5: The Phantom X is a full-fledged Persona 5 spin-off developed for mobile platforms. The game is being made in collaboration with SEGA, ATLUS, Black Wings Games Studio, and Perfect World Games. The Phantom X will be centered all around the theme of “Desire” and “Motivation” in an era where there is little of it. The story follows a group of students—one of whom players will take on the role of—who awaken their Personas and go on an adventure to take down Palaces, just like the Phantom Thieves.

Persona 5: The Phantom X will be developed as an entirely new game optimized for smartphones. However, as the game is based on the world of Persona 5, there will be lots of familiar features such as the basic turn-based combat system, mini-games, and training activities. The original Phantom Thieves will also make a guest appearance.
For now, the game is set to release in China only, with ongoing sign-ups for a Beta test for PC and smartphones on March 29. While there is no official announcement for a global release, it is highly speculated one will be in the works given the series’ popularity.
