A new mod for TES IV: Oblivion – Nehrim: At Fate’s to be released on Steam on 12 June

While we're hoping for the miracle announcement of The Elder Scrolls VI, it might be a good idea to come back in TES IV: Oblivion and try out the new mod Nehrim: At Fate’s. This is a long-dormant project that started back in 2010, so I bet it's full of unique and captivating adventures.

SureAI presents us with Nehrim: At Fate’s Edge – a conversional mod for TES IV: Oblivion. Explore the self-titled country Nehrim, with all of its dense forests and deserts. Take a look at the nearby ancient crypts and maze of caverns. Dive into the compelling story that is unfolding beyond good and evil.

The game’s universe size is roughly the same as Oblivion. However, the landscapes are handcrafted and therefore Nehrim displays a much greater variety than the original game.

Unlike in TES IV: Oblivion, the main quest consists of 35 quests and is much more intensive and vast. Additionally, there are around 30 side quests to complete.

One of the key differences is the skill system. In Nehrim you level up by gaining extra points by killing monsters and most of all by completing quests. I think this is the best way to motivate the player to not skip them. On each level, you receive learning points, which may be exchanged for skills upgrading – just like in the Gothic series.

You can download Nehrim for free, but in order to do that, you need to own the original game. Also, you can support the developers by buying game soundtracks in two volumes. The Music of Nehrim complete collection is currently on sale and costs only $5.56.
