Rumor: New Crash Bandicoot Game May Be Revealed This Week

A rumour suggests that a new Crash Bandicoot game may be announced this week. A number of influencers have been receiving Christmas themed Crash merchandise, suggesting a possible announcement of something Crash Bandicoot related. The 2019 Game Awards are taking place this week, making the timing of the rumour convenient.

Rumour: A New Crash Bandicoot Game May Be Revealed This Week

A new Crash Bandicoot game may be announced as early as this week if this rumour is to be believed.

Several “influencers” have received some suspiciously Christmas-themed Crash Bandicoot merchandise. This merch includes Pop Vinyl figures with Santa hats and other related gear. YouTuber Canadian Guy Eh managed to find a total of seven large scale influencers who received the merch for seemingly no reason. In a Twitter post, the same YouTuber compiled seven pictures from the influencers, ending the Instagram post with the hype-filled words, “Strap in and hang on, things are about to go nuts”.

The Game May Debut at Sony’s State Of Play or The 2019 Game Awards

Activision, who published the Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled, used this very tactic when hyping that game’s announcement, lending credence to the rumour. Before CRT was announced at the 2018 game awards, Activision sent cookies and other gifts to members of the press and influencers. Indeed, this could be a hint at new content for CTR, but, if it is a new game, the timing is convenient considering the two big gaming events taking place this week. Sony’s State of Play livestream takes place on December 10th, followed by the 2019 Game Awards on December 12th.

We’ll soon find out whether a new Crash Bandicoot game is on its way, but if there’s one thing for certain, we could all do with more Bandicoot in our lives.

Crash Team Racing is available on PS4, Xbox One & Switch.
