Earlier today, IO Interactive, the development studio best known for making the Hitman series, announced their next project via a YouTube Premiere. The Danish video game studio announced through a short teaser trailer that they are working on a new 007 game. Currently referred to as Project 007, IO Interactive states through the game’s webpage that they are creating “a wholly original Bond story” that serves to be “the very first James Bond origin story.”

The teaser trailer itself is very short and serves as only an announcement of the project.

Project 007 - Teaser Trailer

I think it’s safe to say that a 007 game by IO Interactive would be perfect for them. We are already familiar with how fantastic they are at crafting an espionage experience through Hitman. Now, we get to see them branch out into the biggest Secret Agent franchise in the world.

If you want to familiarize yourself with IOI’s work, Hitman 2 is not a bad start. Our review states that, “Hitman 2’s biggest strength. . . is that there’s no specific way to do something”. Project 007 will hopefully follow in those same footsteps, giving players tons of options to complete their objectives. Additionally, Hitman 3 is set to release on January 20, 2021, if you would much rather experience all of the World of Assassination Trilogy in one complete experience.

Project 007 currently has no release date.
