In this Vykas Phase 3 Complete Guide in Lost Ark, we will list all wipe mechanics and dangerous attack patterns that can occur in the last phase of Vykas’ Legion Raid. Primarily due to the sheer amount of Vykas’ moves, this is considered the hardest phase of all 3.
We hope you are prepared for one of the most challenging and fun raids in Lost Ark that will test your team’s patience, coordination, and attention to detail. Let’s see how to prepare yourself for Vykas.

Vykas Phase 3 Preparation
There’s a lot of preparation to be done before facing Vykas. Other than the standard features such as sidereals, items, cards, and positions, players need to learn the new mechanic of seduction. Mastering this mechanic is key to understanding most of Vykas’ wipe mechanics and normal attack patterns.
Sidereals are the same as explained in our Vykas Phase 1 guide. The most used one will be Nineveh during the early stages and Wei during the final wipe mechanic.
- HP Potion
- Timestop Potion (essential for Stagger check at 102 HP)
- Sleep Bomb (essential for dealing with the seduction gauge)
- Whirlwind Grenade (essential for stagger, especially at 1 HP)
Similar to Phase 2, Vykas is weak to Holy damage. Therefore, the best card set is Light of Salvation, ascension 12 or higher. Otherwise, Lostwind Cliff or the Boss HP set will work fine.
Positions are fairly simple in Phase 3 and will only be used for the Tentacles mechanic at 55 HP. 4 players should be on the left side of the arena (usually party 1) and 4 on the right (party 2).
Seduction is a new mechanic introduced in Phase 3 and can be seen above each player’s head as a pink bar. It scales from 0 to 100%. When at exactly 0% seduction, the player will deal less damage. At above 70% seduction, the player will deal and take more damage (similar to grudge engraving). Between 1% and 69%, everything is normal. Lastly, at exactly 100% seduction, the player losses control of their character and starts attacking their teammates. If someone reaches 100% seduction, another player will need to use a Sleep Bomb on the seduced player to free them and reset their gauge to 0%.
Seduction increases whenever the player is hit by Vykas’ attacks. In general, players will need to maintain their gauge at around 70% and adjust it constantly according to what the next mechanic requires.
When starting the fight, players will notice 4 orbs (3 for Hard Mode) located on the edges of the arena at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock. At certain mechanics, players will need to stack above one orb and activate it. This emits an aura that reduces all nearby players’ seduction gauges. 3 orbs need to be used throughout the raid at 135, 102, and 1 HP respectively. Therefore, when before entering the raid, decide the order in which you are going to take these orbs. Common callouts include 3-6-9 (first take the 3 o’clock orb, then 6, and last 9) or 9-6-3.
Vykas Phase 3 Wipe Mechanics
There is a wide variety of wipe mechanics that occur at certain HP instances in Vykas Phase 3, and in this Lost Ark complete guide we’ll go through each one of them in turn.
This mechanic can occur anytime if too much time has passed between wipe mechanics (if the team has low DPS). Vykas does a small, red-circle, AoE attack near her. Then, multiple whales spawn at one random edge of the arena and slowly move toward the other. Anyone that gets hit by a whale dies. The tricky part is that only players above 70% can see the whales. Therefore, stick close to any player that is above 70% and they’ll guide you towards the safe path.
This mechanic can also occur at any time. Vykas stands still and black lines emit from her. For Normal Mode, players simply need to look away from Vykas (use auto attacks to easily change the direction your character faces). For Hard Mode, check the later section “Improved Medusa”.
Charm (170 HP)
At 170 HP, Vykas teleports to the middle and emits a shockwave. Then, each player gets either a buff or a debuff (3 debuffs total). Debuff is signalled by a brown aura and is a slow, while the buff is signalled by a blue aura and is a speed increase.
The 3 players with the debuff should move to 9 o’clock. Starting from the edge of the arena, these players should form a line toward Vykas. The remaining players should stay fairly close, but not too close to affect the other players with their buff.
Shortly after, each player will drop their buff on the ground. Immediately after, everyone should run to the player with the slow debuff that is positioned at the edge of the available area. Vykas will then charm everyone to move toward her. Anyone who gets too close will die. By standing on the slow aura, and moving towards the other slow auras, players will move slowly and won’t reach Vykas at all.
Shadows & Swords (155 HP)
At 155 HP, Vykas disappears. Players that are below 70% seduction will see 5 shadows appear, while players that are above 70% seduction won’t see any shadows but instead notice 4 swords. It is essential to communicate and find out which locations have both a sword and a shadow; these are the safezones.
To achieve that, it is recommended for players who see the swords to ping each sword’s location. Then, players who see the shadows should move to one of the pinged locations that also has a shadow.
Quick-Time Event (135 HP)
At 135 HP, Vykas disappears and red orbs fall from the sky. Everyone should head to the first orb indicated at the start of the fight (3 or 9 o’clock), activate it, and stand in its aura to reach 0 seduction gauge.
Then, a cutscene plays and everyone has to complete 2 back-to-back, quick-time events by typing the exact keys in order. To make sure nobody fails this, there is a website that allows users to practice Vykas’ QTE.
Another tip that we recommend in this Vykas Phase 3 complete guide in Lost Ark is using the Nineveh sidereal after the cutscene since Vykas will be stationary in the middle.
If 4 or more people fail any of the QTEs, it’s a wipe. If 1-3 fail, Vykas sends a shockwave that deals damage and knocks everyone down.
Then, Vykas does an AoE attack targeting one player. Afterwards, she teleports to the middle of the arena. Dodge the landing zone AoE at the middle and then run towards her to dodge the next AoE that covers the whole arena except the area next to Vykas.
Max Seduction (120 HP)
At 120 HP, Vykas marks some random players with a debuff that drops a seduction-increase aura. Everyone must group together and get hit by the aura to increase their seduction to 100%. Anyone that isn’t at 100%, will die.
Stagger Check (102 HP)
At 102 HP, Vykas teleports to the middle. Everyone should head to the second orb indicated at the start of the fight (6 o’clock) to reduce their seduction gauge to 0%. Afterwards, everyone will need to run to Vykas and complete the stagger check (using a whirlwind grenade is recommended).
While standing close to Vykas, she will emit an aura that significantly increases each player’s seduction gauge (that’s why it’s important to use the orb beforehand). Complete the stagger before the 2 orbs near Vykas explode.
Immediately after completing the stagger, use a timestop to avoid getting hit (and thus dying) from the orbs’ explosion (yes, you need to complete the stagger check and use timestop afterwards).
Alternatively, 4 monsters spawn at the edges of the arena. 4 players should complete the stagger check, while 4 should kill these monsters. If these monsters are killed before the stagger check is finished, players do not need to use a timestop. However, in this Vykas Phase 3 complete guide in Lost Ark, we recommend using a timestop since it is significantly easier.
Charm (75 HP)
At 75 HP, Vykas repeats the first mechanic with the slow auras. Make sure to stand on the slow aura to avoid reaching Vykas.
Tentacles (55 HP)
At 55 HP, Vykas teleports to the middle and summons multiple tentacles around the arena. Players need to clear all tentacles within a specific time period. As mentioned in positions, 4 players should be on the right side of the arena, and 4 on the left.
The catch is that players can only damage tentacles when above 70% seduction. At the same time, in this mechanic, the seduction gauge is reduced consistently every few seconds. To increase seduction, gather the red orbs coming from the middle. However, be careful not to take too many orbs to avoid reaching 100% seduction. Kill the tentacles in time to survive after the next cutscene.
Pink Medusa (1 HP)
When Vykas is low HP, a cutscene occurs. A pink medusa shadow appears in the middle of the arena. Players must check their minimap to find the location of the real Vykas, head towards it, and make sure they turn their backs to the pink shadow to avoid its medusa attack.
Now for the final sprint. Players need to deplete Vykas’ stagger bar completely before their seduction reaches 100%. In this phase, seduction increases consistently every few seconds (therefore, Vykas is like a ticking time bomb).
After dodging the medusa attack, move to the backside of Vykas to avoid its frontal attacks. Use whirlwind grenades and Wei to deal as much stagger as possible.
One player will be targeted by a red aura attack which reduces seduction for anyone that gets hit. Everyone should stack together and get hit to earn a few extra seconds in this final part.
At one point, Vykas will target everyone with a debuff that will drop an aura on each player’s feet shortly after. It is vital that everyone moves to the edge of the arena and drops their debuff there. Anyone that stands on that debuff has their seduction gauge greatly increased. Therefore, if even one player drops the debuff near Vykas, it may easily result in a wipe.
Vykas Phase 3 Hard Mode Special Mechanics
Hard Mode isn’t only for Vykas’ increased damage and resistances. Instead, there are a few extra mechanics to be wary about.
Similar to Normal Mode, Vykas stands still and black lines emit from her. Then, she does 2 medusa attacks. However, now, it’s not as simple as looking away from her. Instead, players must check Vykas’ wings during each of the medusa attacks. If both wings are closed then everyone must simply look away from her. Instead, if one wing is open, one player must look toward her. Lastly, if both wings are open, 2 players must look toward her.
Since this mechanic happens twice in a row, players need to decide which 4 players will look towards the medusa in the case that she has both wings open on both medusa attacks.
At 40 HP, only in Hard Mode, Vykas does an AoE at the centre of the map, then an AoE to the outer edge. Afterwards, 4 orbs appear at 1, 5, 7, and 11 o’clock. Players must intercept these orbs and then spam the space button to free themselves.
Keep in mind that picking up an orb increases your seduction gauge by about 15%. If you’re close to max, make sure to have a teammate nearby to save you with a sleep bomb.
This is the end of the Vykas Phase 3 complete guide in Lost Ark. For a quick summary, a Reddit user has posted a cheat sheet for the Vykas raid. We hope this and the previous guides allow you to successfully clear Vykas and get you on your way to obtaining your full relic gear set.
