INTRODUCTION
Ah, power armors in Fallout 4. Partly criticised for the bulkiness that made hoarding them in your inventory not possible anymore, partly praised for being more realistic and impactful. Whichever camp you fall into, no one can deny their appeal and iconic status in the Fallout universe. Vanilla Fallout features a small number of different armors but mods are here once again to the rescue. The following are, in our humble opinion the best power armor mods for Fallout 4.
Be sure to check out some of our other Fallout 4 recommended mods across other categories:
If you don’t own the game yet, you can buy it on Amazon for PlayStation 4, or Xbox One, or PC.
10. SUBMERSIBLE POWER ARMOR
Inspired by the iconic look of Big Daddy from the Bioshock franchise. Besides 3 different variants of the armor itself, different paint jobs and multi-colored headlamps this armor comes with a free nanny certificate so you can express a more gentle side of a ton heavy war machine.
9. INSTITUTE POWER ARMOR
Sure, I would imagine something a bit sleeker for a power armor built by the institute but hey, the base color is hospital white just like the rest of the place. At least this thing is packed with all tech available in the entire game so that’s in line with the Institute completely. Taking on the Brotherhood has never been this easy, or bulky.
8. TES-51 POWER ARMOR
This Elder Scrolls-inspired armor mod is a bonkers mix of primal nature and power armor tec. You’d think that this wouldn’t mix well but the mod author really nailed it out of the park with this one. Armor looks like an antique trophy stand and more trophies are to come when fighting using this armor for sure.
7. LIBERTY POWER ARMOR
Liberty power armor is essentially the mini version of Liberty Prime – a 40 ft. weapon of mass destruction. It comes with different skins, light colors and much more. A bite-sized WMD for sure.
6. VAULT-TEC POWER ARMOR
If Vault-Tec wasn’t so busy with building large underground social death experiments and focused on building power armors this would probably make the cut. A sleek, more-futuristic looking one with a badass helmet and a bunch of modifications as if it wasn’t already a complete powerhouse.
5. THE NETWORK
Shoot me down right now if the Network power armor doesn’t look like it jumped out straight out of a Killzone game. Whether that’s the case, you’ll still be able to bring out your inner Helghast with this one and bring the Commonwealth to a bulky heel.
4. T-49 – ARMOR OF THE STORYTELLER
T-49 power armor, besides looking awesome and featuring every object modification of vanilla armors also boasts two armor subtypes suitable for different situations with the promise of more subtypes coming with future updates.
3. THE SPACE MARINE
Space Marines of Warhammer 40K universe are really the epitome of bulkiness. So when you combine that with Fallout 4 power armor you have a match made in heaven. You’re not in space, but you’ll definitely blow your enemies there with this one.
2. ENCLAVE X-02 POWER ARMOR
You probably expected for the Enclave to be missing after the events of past games. Besides, can’t have two technology hungry isolationist factions in the same game right? For all you who felt the Institute was not an adequate replacement for them, now you can use this badass Enclave power armor to join the brotherhood and stomp on their scientific behind.
1. HELLFIRE X-03 POWER ARMOR
Wow, this power armor is awesome. There’s something badass about jumping into a power armor that looks like Starcraft’s own Firebat and raining some hell on your enemies.
So there you have it. Our top 10 power armor mods. Do you feel like we missed any? There are some crazy, not lore friendly anime power armors that you feel like we should have included in the list?
