The second installment in the Star Wars Jedi series is out. With the release came a whole slew of droids for Cal Kestis to fight along his journey. Rather than just the empire’s droids though, Cal has to contend with separatist droids from the clone wars that the Bedlam Raiders have repurposed. One of the most fearsome of these foes is easily the droideka. But what if you can make them fight for you? Well, you can. Here’s how to obtain the droideka slice in Jedi: Survivor.
Where to Start
To get the droideka slice ability you first have to reach the Republic Research Laboratory meditation point which is located on the Shattered Moon. You’ll naturally reach this meditation point by following the main story during the Pursue Rayvis mission.
Once you’re there you’ll have to go out and to the left. You’ll reach a room with quite a few enemies. The ones you’ll have to worry about upon entering the room are 2 raider grunts and a B1 battle droid. After a couple of seconds, 2 BX droids (or commando droids) with rifles will start shooting at you. Another BX droid will also come to fight you. Finally, the last enemy that will come to you will be a raider veteran.
The First Puzzle
After you’ve cleared the bottom floor you can begin completing the main puzzle of the room. This is the one that has to be solved to progress through the game. You’ll see two orb couplers in the room. One will be behind cracked glass with an orb in it, the other will be in the room with you aimed at the exit, which will be blocked by hardened koboh dust.
The neat thing is, you can force-grab the orb out of the coupler through the cracked glass. Before you do that, take note of the ramp on the other end of that room. You’ll notice it dips under the wall into a room you can access. What you have to do is force-grab the orb and throw it onto that ramp and then sprint over to that before the orb rolls off the ramp into the void.
Once you grab the orb you place it in the coupler pointed at the exit. The orb will emit its beam and burn away the koboh dust blocking the exit. But what about the droideka slice?
The Second Puzzle
So by now, you’ve probably noticed there is a second floor to this room. On that second floor is a green laser gate blocked by koboh dust. Through there is where you will find your droideka slice ability.
Before you worry about getting rid of that koboh dust though you’ll want to deal with the enemy up there first. A bedlam smasher stands between you and your ability to turn yet another type of droid against your enemies.
Once the smasher is dispatched you’ll want to stand on the ledge that overlooks the room. Try jumping down on top of the machine holding the orb coupler. You’ll notice once you’re there that you can see the wall where the orb’s beam is hitting and the upper level where koboh dust still blocks off the laser gate.
From here, just use BD-1’s koboh dust launcher and line it the gate. Now while the dust is no longer there in the video below, as long as you follow the same pathing, you’ll get through it. It can be finicky in the corner so it might take two tries.
Once the dust is gone you can force dash through the laser gate. After that, all you have to do is force-lift a door and walk into the room. BD-1 will excitedly jump off Cal and run to a control panel in the corner. Slice it and you’ll gain access to the droideka slice ability in Jedi: Survivor.
Have fun wreaking havoc on the Bedlam Raiders by reprogramming the tech they reprogrammed. Just in case you found your way to this article and read all the way through without owning the game, here’s a link to its page.
