EA has been sharing the F1 23 driver ratings before the game’s launch on June 16, with early access starting from June 13. The world champion Max Verstappen tops the driver ratings in F1 23, with Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso, and Charles Leclerc rated just behind him. The ratings consider four factors: pace, racecraft, experience, and awareness.
- Experience (EXP) is determined by the number of race starts a driver has had throughout their career.
- RAC (Racecraft): The ability of the driver to work their way through the pack and finish higher than where they started.
- Awareness (AWA): The less time spent in the Steward’s room, the better. Real-world punishments will have an impact on this category’s score.
- Pace (PAC): Affects those who have the fastest qualifying and race lap times. A driver beating a teammate is also taken into account.
- RTP (Return on Investment): The sum of the previous four ratings. Based on performance, this overall rating will rise and fall throughout the season.

As usual, drivers were paired up to guess each other’s “My Team” driver ratings. George Russell and Lando Norris were paired together, although they are both on different teams, while Oscar Piastri, Logan Sargeant, and Nyck de Vries all had to guess each other’s scores. You can watch the full video of Formula 1 drivers guessing each other’s F1 23 ratings on Formula 1’s official YouTube account.
The banter between George and Lando is top notch 👌
Other highlights include @LandoNorris calling @GeorgeRussell63 a 'teacher's pet' and ribbing him over his rating 😆😆😆#F1 #F123 @EASPORTSF1 pic.twitter.com/kgZ6N4cXYW
