Patch 12.4 has come to Escape From Tarkov, and with it comes some much needed love to one of the most popular maps in the game, Interchange. While this map is considered to be one of the best loot maps, it has suffered from poor lighting and a lack of extraction options since the map’s release in April 2018. However, Battlestate Games has heard Tarkov fans’ complaints and revamped Interchange with improved visibility inside of the Ultra mall, in addition to 3 new extractions – including the new Saferoom EXFIL.

3 new extractions? Seems too easy, right? Well, one of the new extractions is the Scav Camp extraction, which requires both a PMC and scav to be present in order to use. As those who have tried to use the similar Scav Lands extraction on Reserve have learned, that is a notoriously dangerous risk for PMCs to gamble on. There is also a new Hole in Fence extraction, but also like the Sewer Manhole extraction on Reserve, requires you to remove your backpack in order to use.
That leaves only one viable option, in my opinion – the new Saferoom EXFIL. While this is a complicated extraction, it can net you some pretty sweet loot and is relatively safe. So, how do you use it?
First, you’ll need to acquire an Object #11SR Keycard to use the new Saferoom EXFIL in Escape From Tarkov. This key is currently running for around 10 million rubles on the flea market, but you can find it on Killa’s body (the Interchange scav boss). This keycard has 15 uses.
Once in the raid, head to the Power Station in the northeast corner of the map. You’ll need to flip a switch inside the power station in order to use the keycard inside the mall. If you see the lights kick on before you get to the station, that means someone else has already flipped the switch and you can head on inside.
Once inside, head towards Burger Spot on the second floor. Go into the men’s restroom, and there will be a toilet on the wall opposite to where you walk in. Using this toilet will reveal a hidden keypad where you can swipe your keycard. Once you’ve swiped, the extraction is unlocked.
To get to the Saferoom EXFIL in Escape From Tarkov, head through the massive hole in the floor on the first floor. Once through, hang a left until you make it to the hole in the wall, and the door that you unlocked will be on the left.
Now comes the best part about this extraction – the loot. There are multiple loot spawns inside of the extraction, including:
- Valuables on the couch and floor.
- Food and drink on the shelf.
- Weapon attachments next to the microwave.
- A weapon case, weapon crate, and items case.
But wait, there’s more! On the wall you’ll see another switch (not the pad next to the door). Hitting this switch will unlock a storage crate in the parking garage pictured above. This crate has more loose valuables, a weapon rack, attachments, and a large weapon crate.
Once you’re all done looting, you can head back to the extraction room and hit the keypad next to the door to use the new Saferoom EXFIL in Escape From Tarkov.
