Introduction
Everyone wants that shiny Gold Camo on their SMG, or a Diamond Camo for every Assault Rifle. Or better yet, the Dark Matter Camo that is obtained by getting all diamonds. In this Guide, I will be telling you how to complete the tasks easily and be one step closer to the hypnotizingly beautiful Dark Matter.
Basics
The first stage of getting a gold camo varies between the gun classes. For Assault Rifles, Submachine guns, Light Machine Guns and Pistols, you need to get 100 headshots, with a new camo unlocking at 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40, 50, 75 and 100. For Shotguns and Sniper Rifles, you need 100 one shot kills, with some exceptions, which you can see in the camo menu for any weapon you have unlocked. For Launchers, you need to destroy 100 Scorestreaks. As soon as those objectives are completed, a set of more varied tasks will be unlocked.
For a lot of players, getting the headshots is often an issue, here’s a tip on how to get them a bit quicker. If you’re playing exclusively in Core, be sure to add the High Caliber attachment when available, it will boost your headshot damage so the odds of finishing off your kill with it are higher. Also, you could try jumping into Hardcore where Health is reduced to 30%, making virtually every headshot a kill. For shotguns, the process is the same, except the Argus and KRM-262 need One-shot kills, whereas the Haymaker 12 and Brecci 205 require Headshots. For Sniper Rifles, you also have to get One-Shot Kills. The Light Machine guns are identical to AR’s.
Ardent Camo
SMG's, LMG's Shotguns, Pistols – Get 10 Revenge medals
A Revenge medal is given when you kill someone who recently killed you. This is an easy one and will be completed just by playing the game.
Assault Rifles – Get 10 Longshot medals
In order to make this process easier, you can add the Varix 3 and Suppressor attachments on AR’s to decrease the range at which a kill qualifies as a long shot and add the Long Barrel attachments to Shotguns to increase their range and make getting kills at longer ranges easier.
Burnt Camo and Bliss Camo
Get 50 kills with no attachments equipped/Get 50 kills with an optic and 5 attachments equipped.
Once you tackle this objective, make sure that your gun is NOT Prestiged as you’ll need the attachments. Start off with Bliss, get 50 kills with attachments, then you can prestige and do Burnt, so that once both of them are done the gun is prestiged and has a few attachments to start with. The best attachments for this challenge, of course, depend on the gun, but Reflex/ELO, Laser Sight and Stock are a must, the other two should be whatever fits your playstyle.
Battle Camo
Kill 2 people rapidly 5 times.
Just like Ardent, this will come naturally while getting other Camos.
Chameleon Camo
Get 5 kills in one life using only the weapon.
This is going to be the Camo that will take up most of your time. Basically, you need to get at least 5 kills with your gun without dying. There’s a myriad of class setups that can help you with this, but you should play with the one that you feel most comfortable with, nobody can tell you that something will get you more kills if you can’t play with that setup. Although the perks that I use are Ghost and Fast Hands so you can always aim quickly after sprinting and never appear on the minimap, thus attracting less attention to yourself, meaning less deaths while you scour the edges of the map, scoping out objectives from afar. Although, I can give you advice regarding the specialist that will help you get this.
Rejack, Rejack, glorious Rejack!
If you’re going for Chameleon, which most of the time will be the last camo you have to get, always use Rejack! Even though you won’t get a Bloodthirsty medal if you Rejack before getting the fifth kill, it will still count towards your progress for Chameleon, making it heaps easier to get it. Of course, Rejack is not some god-tier ability that will guarantee you the rest of the kills. Just like with everything else, you’re going to have to be smart. Don’t use it if you’ve been killed in the open and watch out for other enemies because once you Rejack, there’s a split-second when you can’t shoot and are vulnerable. On the plus side, you are revived to full health and full ammo in you mag so spray away!
Launchers
For launchers, objectives are different:
Ardent Camo
Get 10 direct hit infantry kills (Only on XM-53 and L4 Siege)
This isn’t too hard, just equip one launcher and loads of perks, run around with the launcher for 3-4 games, you’ll get the kills eventually.
Destroy a scorestreak 20 seconds after it is deployed 5 times (Blackcell)
Very easy, just take down a UAV or CUAV as soon as it's deployed.
Battle Camo
Destroy 5 Talons or Cerberuses
Pick an objective-based game mode like Domination or Hardpoint and make sure to have Cold Blooded equipped, which will make you invisible to AI Scorestreaks, so you can dispatch them with ease.
Bliss Camo
Rapidly destroy 2 Scorestreaks
Also easy, watch out for a UAV+CUAV spam and take down both of them quickly.
Burnt Camo
Destroy 5 Scorestreaks in a single game
Again, jump into Domination and play as you would, but pay attention to UAV’s and CUAV’s, most of the time, at least five will pop up during the game, take them down, easily acquirable in a single game.
Chameleon Camo
Destroy 10 Hardened Sentries, Power Cores or Guardians.
Same as Battle Camo, equip Cold Blooded so you don’t get killed by sentries. The perk does not work on Guardians but they’re generally easier to take down anyway.
