9 Shadowgun Legends Tips for the Campaign Game

This guide includes numerous Shadowgun Legends tips that might help you play through that game’s single-player campaign better. Are the Torment aliens getting the better of you? If so, check out the tips for Shadowgun Legends’ campaign game below.

9 Shadowgun Legends Tips for the Campaign Game

Shadowngun Legends is a highly-rated first-person shooter for Android and iOS mobile devices. It includes an expansive single-player story campaign alongside multiplayer modes you can unlock by amassing XP. In the story campaign, you’re battling it out in missions to defeat the Torment aliens. Here are some Shadowgun Legends tips to get you through that game’s single-player campaign.

1. Save most of your credits for skill tree upgrades

The skill tree enables you to unlock and upgrade both active and passive skills in Shadowgun Legends. It’s better to save most of your credits for upgrading both active and passive skills instead of splashing out on new guns and armor. You don’t need to invest heavily in new guns and armor when you’re lower than rank 20 because you’ll receive plenty of loot by completing missions and picking up Holograms and items during missions.

2. Shoot at heads

Like in most first-person shooters, headshots inflict more damage in Shadowguns Legends. However, in Legends you’ll receive additional XP bonuses with headshots. So, you’ll also rank up a bit quicker by shooting at aliens’ heads with more regularity.

3. Retreat when low on health

Whenever you’ve lost some health in Shadowgun, you’ll always replenish it after a few seconds as long as your energy bar doesn’t get wiped. So, retreat from aliens when you’ve lost more than 50 percent of your energy. You can usually backtrack down some corridors away from the alien hordes where you can safely wait for your energy bar to fully replenish. Thereafter, you can engage the enemy again with health fully restored.

4. Equip a rocket launcher for yellow enemies

Rocket launchers are one of the secondary weapon types you can equip in Shadowgun Legends. Although not so effective in multiplayer duels, rocket launchers can come in handy for killing the stronger yellow enemies in campaign missions. Rocket launchers do a lot of damage, and it’s pretty easy to score direct hits on most yellow hostiles with them. Therefore, it’s worth equipping a rocket launcher and saving its ammunition for the yellow boss aliens in campaign missions.

5. Configure the game’s controls

The default control scheme in Shadowngun Legends isn’t bad. However, I found that the left active skill button is a little too near to the left movement controls. Consequently, players can sometimes accidentally press the active skill button when moving. Furthermore, it’s better to have a clear button for aiming down sights than stick with the default double-tap control for ADS.

You can fix those minor control issues by configuring Shadowngun Legend’s control scheme. To do so, tap the cog button at the top left corner of Shadowngun Legends. Select the Controls tab, and press the Customize Layout button. Then you can change the control layout by moving the left active skill button a bit further to the right and adding an ADS button to press.

6. Go to the casino and S.A.R.A Bar to get buffs

The Hub’s Casino and S.A.R.A Bar are two places you can hang out to play slots games and drink booze. However, the best reason to go to the casino and bar is to receive temporary buff boosters that last about 30 minutes. When you stand in the game’s casino or bar for about two to three minutes, you’ll see two hexagon buffs appear at the top left of the screen as shown directly below. You’ll always receive the same Critical Damage and Accuracy Boost buffs in Casino, while the S.A.R.A bars are more random. So, make sure you enter Casino and S.A.R.A Bar with regularity to receive handy buffs for missions.

7. Shoot at explosive tanks to kill nearby aliens

Some campaign missions include red, explosive barrels like the one in the screenshot directly below. Shooting at those barrels sets of big explosions that can wipe out multiple aliens. So, those barrels can come in handy for annihilating aliens. Shoot at those barrels to take out nearby aliens nice and quick.

8. Trade-in Holograms just after you’ve leveled up

Collecting and decoding Holograms is a good way to get better gear. Those Holograms scale with your actual rank level. Thus, the best time to decode Holograms is just after you’ve leveled up. Don’t decode any Holograms just before leveling up, as you’ll get better gear from them if you wait a bit longer until you’ve climbed a rank.

9. Equip Supercharger

There are various active skills you can equip, but Supercharger is the must-have one. Supercharger gives you a 100 percent damage boost for a short time. Thus, that skill effectively doubles the damage of your guns when activated. You can kill off aliens significantly faster with that skill equipped. Therefore, make sure you equip Supercharger and upgrade it whenever you can.
