Call of Duty: Warzone’s Battle Royale mode might be its primary attraction, but don’t forget about that game’s Plunder mode. Plunder is a fun and exciting alternative ranked Warzone mode in which teams of up to four players battle it out to amass cash. The squad that amasses the highest cash total wins. It’s a fast and frantic race against the clock kind of mode with infinite respawns. To help you climb that mode’s ranking ladder, here are some Call of Duty: Warzone Plunder tips.
1. Don’t hold too much cash
This is an important Call of Duty: Warzone Plunder tip to always remember. Never hold too much cash, as there’s always a chance an enemy will kill you and steal a good proportion of it. The more moolah you carry, the more cash you’ll lose in the event somebody mugs you.
To ensure you never lose too much, get into the habit of regularly depositing cash during Plunder matches. As a rule, consider depositing cash every time you’re at, or close to, the $100,000 mark. By doing so, you’ll ensure you’re always holding less than $100,000 when killed. Always make sure you deposit cash before attempting to take out a Bounty Contract target or simply hunt for enemies.
You can deposit the moolah at Cash Deposit Helipads or with Cash Deposit Balloons (picked up from supply crates). It’s safer to deposit with balloons because you’re more likely to get ambushed around helipads. Make sure you always pick up balloons when you find them. If you’re already holding a balloon when you find another one, simply deposit your cash so you can then pick up the other balloon.
2. Make good use of the map
The map is more important in Plunder than Warzone’s Battle Royale mode. Aside from including all the usual details, it shows you the locations of Cash Deposit Helipads. The map also marks the locations of the top teams and players during matches. So, keep an eye on the map to find Contracts and helipads and check the approximate positions of hostiles.
3. Look for Scavenger Contracts
Scavenger Contracts are one of the most important things to look for on the map. Those are invaluable for Plunder matches as they show you the locations of supply crates. So, you’ll receive cash from the supply crates highlighted on the map by Scavenger Contracts along with a cash reward for completing the Contracts.
4. Equip a rocket launcher for helicopters
Helicopter attacks in bonus rounds are a pretty common feature of Plunder matches. Although choppers can be pretty deadly, you’ll get a cash reward for shooting them down. Rocket launchers can come in real handy for shooting down helicopters. Therefore, it’s a good idea to add a rocket launcher to your Plunder mode loadout so you’ve always got one handy to shoot down choppers.
5. Equip a Heartbeat Sensor
The good thing about Plunder mode is that you’re always equipped with one of your loadouts. Therefore, you can make sure you’ve always got the best tactical gear at your disposal for Plunder matches.
The Heartbeat Sensor is the most useful tactical gear in Warzone. That’s a tablet-like device that shows you the approximate distance and direction of nearby hostiles with green dots. As it can save you from surprise attacks in and around buildings, it’s invaluable tactical gear for both Plunder and Battle Royale modes. So, make sure you add a Heartbeat Sensor to your loadout.
6. Don’t get caught up in too many dogfights
There are two ways you can play Plunder matches. You can take a more aggressive approach to pursue and kill enemies and pick up their cash from them. Or you can take a safety-first approach in which you focus on picking up cash on the ground and from crates as quickly as you can and only go for kills to defend yourself.
If you don’t have a particularly high K/D ratio statistic in Warzone’s Battle Royale mode, it’s best to take the safety-first approach and avoid getting caught up in too many dogfights with enemies. You can waste a lot of time and money fighting lots of hostiles and getting killed more often than not in the process. Instead, focus on picking up cash from buildings and supply crates as quickly as possible. I’ve amassed cash totals amounting to $700,000-$800,000 in Plunder without firing a shot in anger. So, it’s by no means essential to kill lots of hostiles to win Plunder matches.
7. Land near lucrative drop spots further away from the flight path
To amass the most cash, look for it in the best places. The most lucrative cash locations in Verdansk are choc-a-bloc with supply crates you can crack open to stuff your bag with moolah. These are some of the most lucrative map areas to amass cash at:
- Train Station
- Super Store
- Zordaya Prison Complex (and Farmland opposite it)
- TV Station (and surrounding buildings)
Of course, those lucrative areas tend to attract players to them. It’s better to have such areas largely to yourself than fight with lots of enemies at them. Those locations will usually be somewhat busier when they’re right along the flight path. To avoid crowds, try landing at, or at least near, the most lucrative map location that’s furthest away from the flight path. Then you’ll probably encounter somewhat fewer hostiles in such locations than you would when they’re very near the flight path.
8. Don’t waste time looking for cash in small buildings with opened doors
When searching for cash, look for buildings with closed doors. Small buildings (primarily residential ones) with open doors are those other players have already been in. Players who have searched small buildings before you will have most likely already picked up all the cash in them. Thus, you’ll seldom find any cash in small buildings with open doors. In the worst-case scenario, you might even run into an enemy within a building with an open door. So, try to look for cash and supply crates in small buildings that don’t look like they’ve already been searched.
If you’re in an area that looks like it’s already been thoroughly looted, consider switching location. Find a nearby vehicle on the map, and then ride to another location to grab cash in. Try to find a location few other players have searched for cash in. There’s no shrinking play zone in Plunder matches, so don’t be afraid to explore all areas of Verdansk.
Those Call of Duty: Warzone Plunder tips will give you a better chance of collecting more cash and winning matches in that game mode. Just remember that amassing cash, not killing lots of players, is the name of the game in Plunder. As such, you don’t need to be a Warzone expert to win Plunder matches.
