Prey includes numerous optional objectives you can complete to gain extra bonuses. Among them is the Talos Smuggling Ring side quest you can unlock. That side quest includes six hidden fire alarm safes you can crack open to pick up Neuromods from each. So, it’s well worth completing that objective, but finding all the safes isn’t easy when you don’t know where to look. This is where you can find all those hidden fire alarm safe locations in Prey.

You can unlock the Talos Smuggling Ring objective within the Arboretum (garden) area of Talos 1. If you haven’t reached that area of Talos 1 yet, you’ll have to play through the game a bit more. When you’re in the Arboretum, walk down the corridor that leads to the Talos 1 Lobby lift elevator (shown in the first screenshot below). You’ll find Lilly’s body along that corridor. Pick up the TransScribe beside that corpse to unlock the objective.
The Fire Alarm Safe in Arboretum
This fire alarm safe location in Prey can be found directly above the corpse of Lilly Morris where you pick up the transcribe for the Talos Smuggling Ring side quest. That fire alarm is along the wall of the corridor in Arboretum that leads to the Lobby lift. Look on the wall area just above Lilly’s body to find it. Whack that safe three times with the Wrench to grab your Neuromod and GLOO ammo.
The Fire Alarm Safe Transtar Exhibit
Head to the ground floor of the Talos 1 Lobby. Then go to the Transtar Exhibit room that’s clearly labeled on the map. There you’ll find the fire alarm safe along the walls right next to one of the room’s two doors. Give the fire alarm a good whacking to pick up some Recycle Charges and a Neuromod in it.
The Fire Alarm Safe in the Restroom Hall
You can also find this fire alarm safe location in Prey on the ground floor of the Talos 1 Lobby. Head to the restroom (or bathroom) there. When you approach the restroom’s entrance, turn left and walk to the middle of the hallway. You’ll see a fire alarm safe on the wall just opposite the door along that hallway. As that alarm safe is a bit higher up, you might need to fire a little GLOO at the wall to reach it. That safe includes some PSI Hypo and, of course, a Neuromod.
The Fire Alarm Safe in Hardware Labs
To find this fire alarm safe location in Prey, go to the Atrium area in Hardware Labs. Then walk into the lift that will take you to the second floor of the Atrium area. Walk up to the statue of William Yu close to the lifts. There you’ll discover a fire alarm safe on the wall just behind that statue. Shoot some GLOO at the wall to climb on to reach and open the fire alarm where you can pick up another Neuromod.
The Fire Alarm Safe in Crew Quarters
Later in the game, you’ll be able to access Crew Quarters. There you can find another fire alarm safe within the Fitness Center. Walk through the Fitness Center’s primary door entrance and turn right. Then look up along the right wall you’re walking along to find it near the Locker Room. The map screenshot below shows you the fire alarm safe’s exact location. You’ll need to fire some GLOO at the wall to reach this one, which includes some exotic materials and the all-important Neuromod.
The Fire Alarm Safe in Cargo Shipment Control
Go to the Cargo Bay area where Sarah Elazar and other Talos 1 survivors are hanging out. Enter a lift to reach the second floor of that area to enter the Cargo Shipment Control office. That office includes the survivor’s food stash, Sam Hertz, and a fire alarm bell safe on one of its walls. Crack open the alarm bell safe there to pick up an EMP Charge, Upgrade Kit, and Neuromod to boot.
It’s not too tricky to find those fire alarm safe locations in Prey when you know where to look for them. When you’ve found all those safes and completed Talos Smuggling Ring, you’ll have six Neuromods to indulge in. With those Neuromods, you can upgrade Morgan’s skillset with numerous level two and three abilities.
