WrestleMania 39 Predictions: Next Stop…Hollywood!

WrestleMania 39 is coming up, so let's make some predictions about who's going to win. With tensions high heading into the most excellent two-night show of the year for pro wrestling, WrestleMania 39 lands itself in Inglewood, CA, at the SoFi Stadium. It promises to be one event that will change everything in the WWE...Forever!

With the biggest pay-per-view event on the pro wrestling calendar right around the corner, WrestleMania 39 is shaping up to be a good little show. Veterans facing off against up-and-comers and social media icons going head-to-head with talent on the roster…it is a great time to look at the card and give my opinion as to who I think will win their respective feuds at the showcase of the immortals.

WrestleMania 39 can be seen on Peacock, April 1–2.

Story: It All Happens at WrestleMania 39!

Right after last year’s WrestleMania, most of these feuds have been a long time coming. And they will end decisively at this year’s WrestleMania. Everybody wants to know if John Cena can put Austin Theory in his place in California. Or whether or not Edge can defeat The Judgement Day’s leader inside Hell in a Cell at the mega throwdown event. I feel like this will conclude all of the loose ends of the storylines in the last twelve months. I also think the Raw after Mania will completely differ from the one leading into WrestleMania. Nothing will be the same again.

The Card: Matches

The event promises to deliver some of the most explosive bouts on this side of the Mississippi. Let’s take a look at them and see what I think might be the outcomes.

Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes

This matchup is shaping up to be the passing of the torch moment. With the promo that Cody Rhodes cut on Roman Reigns, it does not sound so good for the tribal chief heading into this match at WrestleMania 39. My opinion is that The Bloodline will fall at WrestleMania in California. The only question is…by how much? Is it a damaging moment for the faction or a complete downfall? I feel that Cody Rhodes will win this match against Roman Reigns and that he will then obtain the world titles.

As I said, how Cody Rhodes delivered his promo against Roman Reigns has me scratching my head. It sounds like Roman Reigns will no longer be a part of The Bloodline and that Solo Sikoa will start a feud with The American Nightmare after Mania. Maybe we get a twist, and Roman Reigns only has to defend one of his two titles at the show, and therefore he can limp away still as a world title holder. But my opinion is that Cody Rhodes will win this match against Roman Reigns.

Does Cody Rhodes finish the story?

Seth “Freakin” Rollins vs Logan Paul

Logan Paul has certainly been proving himself at WrestleManias in the past. He has progressed in his abilities inside a pro wrestling ring, to say the least. However, this will be his biggest obstacle at a WrestleMania as he faces off against The Visionary Seth “Freakin” Rollins. This promises to be a good battle, and I think that Logan Paul will have another slobber-knocker of a performance, but at the end of the day, I have to go with Seth Rollins winning this match. Simply because he has had a couple of bad outcomes in previous encounters at this event with foes, I don’t think that Seth Rollins can afford to lose a match against Logan Paul after suffering a trilogy of losses last year against Cody Rhodes.

Charlotte Flair vs Rhea Ripley

So, the scene was WrestleMania 36. The Undertaker is wrapping up his career against AJ Styles in a boneyard match. And an up-and-comer is challenging Charlotte Flair to a match for the NXT Women’s title at Mania. That up-and-comer was Rhea Ripley. She eventually lost that match against Charlotte Flair, and I believe this is retribution time for Rhea. I think that Ripley will win this match against Charlotte Flair. Again, just like the Seth Rollins and Logan Paul match, I think Rhea Ripley is more vulnerable to losing everything in this match than Charlotte Flair.

Drew McIntyre vs Gunther vs Sheamus

Years in the making for Sheamus. The scene is set for him to capture immortal notoriety. If Sheamus wins this match, he wins the Intercontinental Championship in the process, and if he does that…He will then have captured all titles the WWE offers for men. Clearly, I am going with Sheamus to win this match because I have been a fan of Sheamus since he first debuted on Raw, ever since his match with Jamie Noble. At that moment in time, you could just tell this guy was going places. I believe that Gunther has a huge career ahead of him, and after so many days being the Intercontinental Champion…a loss at Mania will not affect him too much at the end of the day.

Austin Theory vs John Cena

Returning to a backstage segment with John Cena at his 20th Anniversary show on Raw…Austin Theory had a heated encounter with the champ and the former master of thuganomics. You knew then that they would likely have a match at WrestleMania 39 in Cali. One of the best to ever do it is throwing down with a guy like Austin Theory, that has all the tools in his repertoire to be something special will be a great fight, to say the least. John Cena seems to be a person that is comfortable giving the rub to the new guys. He had a great career, and he’s all about giving a great moment to the new talent on the roster. Therefore, I believe that John Cena will lose at Mania, and Mr. Theory will be the victor in this bout.

Bianca Belair vs Asuka

My gut is telling me that Asuka will more than likely defeat the EST of WWE in this match that promises to be a barn burner. But I am going with Bianca Belair to win this battle at WrestleMania 39 because I enjoy her run as champion thus far.

Brock Lesnar vs Omos

A great and powerful monster versus monster match this is going to be. You know that this fight will have a lot of headbutts and body slams involved in it. I believe Omos will barely win this match because of some interference on MVP’s behalf. It will be a hard-fought bout, no question about it, but in the end, Brock Lesnar will taste defeat because I think that MVP will get involved.

Edge vs Finn Balor

With this feud going on for nearly a year, I think the veteran Edge will get his hand raised in victory when it is all said and done. The way that Finn Balor talked about competing with Edge inside a Hell in a Cell match at Mania makes me believe that the two will conjure up their dark sides to help them in this match.

Trish Stratus, Lita, and Becky Lynch vs Damage CTRL

Regardless of what happens in this matchup, I think we are all winners already simply for having Trish and Lita back on WWE programming. They bring a depth that is sorely lacking on the show. It will come down to the wire, no doubt about it, but I think that the team of Trish, Lita, and Becky will come out on top in this. Again, it will be a hard-fought match, but the veterans will show the youngsters how it’s done.

A Men’s WrestleMania Showcase Fatal Four-Way Tag Team Match

A recently added match to the WrestleMania 39 card will pit four tag teams together. They include Braun Strowman and Ricochet, The Street Profits, Alpha Academy, and The Viking Raiders. The WWE has been teasing a split between The Street Profits and Alpha Academy over the last few weeks. So, I can’t see them winning unless they want to give them one final victory before they split them up heading into the Raw after Mania. So, with that being said, I’m going with The Viking Raiders. It’s hard to go against the Braun Strowman and Ricochet team because you can never count out Strowman from any match at WrestleMania, but I’m going strictly on who needs it more and who seems to be moving forward still as a tag team duo. Therefore, I’m going with The Viking Raiders to win this one.

The Usos vs Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn

This one will likely be the feel-good match of the event. Since last April, Sami Zayn has thought he wanted to be a part of The Bloodline. And now, with a falling out with them and the rekindling with his old friend Kevin, I think this one will have a lot of emotions throughout the match. Ultimately, I’m going with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn winning the match and thusly becoming the new tag team champs.

A bout for the tag titles!

A bout for the tag titles!

There you have it, my predictions for the matches happening at this year’s WrestleMania. Another match is scheduled at Mania, a WrestleMania showcase fatal four-way tag team match on the women’s side of things. However, not all opponents have been announced as of this writing. In the end, it is shaping up to be an exciting and climatic two-night event, filled with lots of suspense and drama.

WrestleMania 39 is where chapters will conclude, and new beginnings will bloom. The underlying tagline heading into this particular event is “finish the story,” which appears to be more than just for Cody Rhodes. It feels like this is the bridge event between the Vince McMahon era and the Triple H era. All feuds will conclude from the previous administration’s reign. As well as for all the talent on the roster that will be involved in the ring at the show. To say that WrestleMania 39 is a significant show is an understatement.
