Things seem grand and amazing at first, as Evie enjoys a lavish lifestyle and the seduction of a handsome host. However, not everything is as it seems when Evie is suddenly thrown into a nightmare that she cannot wake up from. Evie must survive her twisted long-lost family and their dark secrets that have been hiding under the surface all along.

Recently widowed Dr. Nate Daniels returns to South Africa– where he first met his wife– on a long-awaited trip with his daughters. Daniels brings his daughters to a game reserve where an old friend awaits them as their guide. Although this journey starts off nicely and seems to act as a way for the family to emotionally heal from a sorrowful recent death, things begin to take a sharp turn. A survivor of poaching gone rouge– a terrifying lion out for blood– begins to stalk and hunt Dr. Nate Daniels and the others. Now Daniels, his daughters, and his wildlife friend must all fight for survival in this chilling tale of man v. nature.
Idris Elba alone is enough to warrant the excitement following the announcement of this film. However, if that wasn’t enough: there’s more. Beast is produced by Will Packer, a producer with many movies that have opened no. 1 at the US box office under his belt. This thrilling film is also directed by Baltasar Kormákur, a beloved actor, director, and producer with a wide variety of experiences. When Josiah begins seeing supernatural visions of what lies beyond, he eventually comes to the conclusion that they must change their crooked ways in order to right a huge wrong. Furthermore, Josiah’s oldest children decide to reunite with both him and Thomas at their old farmhouse after being away for nearly 2 decades. Everyone has intentions of confronting and ending the hauntings of their past, but wrongdoings are not so easily forgiven.

After a terrifyingly advanced alien predator makes itself known, Naru and her tribe are left to deal with more than just the wilderness around them. Naru must put her skills to the ultimate test as she attempts to protect her tribe from not only the dangers nature has to offer, but a predator keen on hunting humans for sport.
Prey looks extremely promising and Midthunder’s performance is one to definitely look forward to. It will be interesting to see how everything unfolds in a new, fresh era of the Predator universe. The Immaculate Room

Emile Hirsch and Kate Bosworth star in a new psychological horror movie that explores just how much the human mind can take. The Immaculate Room saw its initial premiere at the Mammoth Film Festival and is now releasing on a much wider scale!
The story begins with Mike and Kate, a picture perfect couple with their whole lives ahead of them. Mike and Kate agree to participate in a psychological experiment where they must stay isolated together in a sleek white room with no connection to the outside world. If the couple can successfully live in The Immaculate Room for a total of 50 days: they win 5 million dollars. Everything seems simple and fine at first. However, as more and more time passes by, Mike and Kate are put through cruel tests and confronted by their inner demons.
What adds to the intrigue here is the parallel between The Immaculate Room and real life tests where people are left isolated in sleek white rooms for psychological experiments. It is a very interesting concept and the acting in this film looks very promising. Such an eerie looking film definitely deserves a spot on this list of biggest horror movies releasing August 2022!

The premise of Bodies Bodies Bodies is simple, yet effective. A group of friends have a house party at a remote mansion. Bee is the working-class girlfriend of Sophie and is new to the friend group, especially when it comes to the way they party. After the party begins, the group decides to play a game called Bodies Bodies Bodies, where there is a pretend murder in the dark scenario that takes place. After the game goes horribly and creates even more tension than there once was in the group, an actual murder takes place and forces the group to search for a real murderer this time around.
If teen slasher movies just isn’t your style, that’s totally understandable. However, Bodies Bodies Bodies seems much more promising than your average teen slasher cash grab. Considering how iconic and entertaining this film looks, it most definitely deserves a place here on this list of biggest horror movies releasing August 2022!

1091 Pictures brings an exciting docuseries to the table made up of three different parts. This series of films follow OutKast Paranormal as they piece together information and evidence in search of Bigfoot– otherwise known as The Skunk Ape. This docuseries isn’t quite a horror movie like the rest of the selection on this list. However, The Skunk Ape Experiments looks extremely promising in terms of nostalgia and suspense. Lovers of myths and legends alike have much to look forward to here! The Skunk Ape Experiments is set to release August 2, 2022 on iTunes, Amazon Prime Video, Vudu, and FandangoNow.
Glorious
Directed by Rebekah McKendry, Glorious is a Lovecraftian horror film that features Ryan Kwanten and legendary actor J.K. Simmons. When a heartbroken man finds himself trapped inside a bathroom, a strange voice begins to explain that he may be the world’s only hope at stopping a horrible event. Those who enjoy Lovecraft’s strange, off-the-wall works should most definitely keep an eye on this one! This Lovecraft-inspired film is simply too interesting to ignore! Allegoria
Directed by Spider One, Allegoria is a psychological horror film that plays with the minds of creatives. As a group of artists find that their insecurities and obsessions are manifesting monsters, demons, and other horrible things, their lives begin to entangle as the story unfolds. Allegoria looks to be a terrifying film full of creepy imagery and heavy emotion. Such a thrilling psychological experience most definitely deserves a watch!
