Now that we are well into the year, it is time for another selection of major game releases, coming in May 2022. From Sniper Elite 5 to We Were Here Forever, passing through Evil Dead: The Game, the month of May is guaranteed to bring some amazing new games for us to experience.

5 Major Game Releases Coming in May 2022

The first half of the year has been great when it comes to game releases, and the month of May keeps the trend going.

Let’s get right into it! Check out the selection of 5 major game releases coming in May 2022.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong

Starting off with an RPG, Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong releases on May 19.

Set in Boston, the narrative-driven single-player game allows the player to control three vampires with different abilities. With full character customization, the player can adapt their playstyle through the ability upgrade system.

If you are a fan of single-player story-driven games, like me, then this game is a good recommendation for you. If Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines is any indication, this new entry will be a solid narrative experience attached to an amazing atmosphere.

Of course, the RPG elements of the game are also an important factor when it comes to its success. I’m hoping that the developers learn from their mistakes in Bloodlines and deliver an improved version of what was already great. Swansong has everything to be among the best story-driven RPGs out there, and that is why I chose to include it in this selection of major game releases.

Sniper Elite 5

Sequel to Sniper Elite 4, the game is releasing on May 26.

The third-person stealth tactical shooter is back for another run. In this game, the player is sent on multiple missions where they have to kill certain targets using a sniper rifle. Sniper Elite 5, like its predecessors, features an X-Ray kill cam, showing the body parts and internal organs ruptured by the impact of the bullet.

In my opinion, the Sniper Elite series is one of those franchises that you absolutely love or simply hate. The game is slow and methodical, but when you get into the groove of it, it becomes an amazingly rewarding experience. The stealth and tactical elements are almost perfect, which is rare these days.

Sniper Elite 4 is one of my favorite stealth shooters ever and my expectations are through the roof when it comes to Sniper Elite 5. Let’s just hope the developers don’t disappoint us.

Evil Dead: The Game

Horror fans, May’s major game releases also have a little something for you, with Evil Dead: The Game releasing on May 13.

The survival horror video game is based on the Evil Dead franchise, featuring PvP and co-op gameplay. Evil Dead: The Game features multiple actors from the Ash vs Evil Dead television series, namely Bruce Campbell, Dana DeLorenzo, and Ray Santiago.

Evil Dead: The Game - Gameplay Reveal Trailer | Summer Game Fest 2021

To be honest, I was not aware of the Evil Dead universe until I came across the television series. The comedic horror series came from the hands of Sam Raimi, the horror mastermind. The series is complete mayhem, with a beautiful mess of monsters and kills.

The TV series alone made me incredibly hyped for the game, and I truly cannot wait to get my hands on it and start playing with these characters from the small screen. I absolutely recommend both the series and, hopefully, the game.

Tennis Manager 2022

An RPG, a horror, and a shooter game, May has something for everyone, even for sports enthusiasts, with Tennis Manager 2022 coming on May 17.

Sequel to 2021’s Tennis Manager, Tennis Manager 2022 sees the player take on the role of a tennis manager, with all the functions one can have. By growing the academy of young players and managing finances, the player can build their team to their liking.

Tennis Manager 2022 - Announce Trailer

As a big fan of sports, especially football, and having played lots of Football Manager, I felt right at home with Tennis Manager. If you are not really into tennis as a sport it might take some time for you to fully grasp the dimensions and customizability of the game, but when you do, Tennis Manager delivers an amazing sports experience.

As I said, apart from Football Manager, this series is probably one of the most detailed sports management simulators available. The gameplay is smooth and enjoyable, pairing perfectly with the management part of the game. For that reason, Tennis Manager 2022 is featured in this list of major game releases coming in May 2022.

We Were Here Forever

Last but not least, we’ve got another co-op experience, with We Were Here Forever releasing on May 10.

The puzzle co-op series comes back for another run, with the fourth title named We Were Here Forever. The new entry will feature new areas, with brand new puzzles, as well as an improved interface and multiple gameplay tweaks.

We Were Here Forever | Official Teaser Trailer

After its predecessors’ success, it was only a matter of time before we got another We Were Here game. And I can’t wait for it. For me, it is one of the best puzzle co-op games out there. The puzzles are truly challenging, which adds an interesting feel to the game, and the co-op system is simply the icing on the cake.

The new entry in the series really has tons of potential to become one of the best, if not the best, co-op puzzler available. Let’s just hope the game lives up to those expectations.

Having listed some of the best game releases coming in May 2022, I believe it’s safe to say we’ve got a great month right around the corner.

What do you think? Does April’s list top this one? Would you change anything in this selection? Let me know in the comments down below!
