The games this month are unique, puzzling, and quite the magical adventure. Horticular
Horticular will be releasing on Steam on July 11th. After being summoned by magical gnome to restore a beloved garden, you’re in charge of bringing life back to the environment. There’s tons of creative freedom available as you create the garden of your dreams. Utilize all sorts of different surface types and items to decorate with. You’ll be able to build animal habitats and attract different creatures based on your garden set-up. Use magic to keep your inhabitants happy, fight decay, and rid of the strange corrupted agents that are sent over by your nemesis. The developers even encourage modding the game and supply easily accessible game files!
Magical Delicacy
Magical Delicacy will be releasing on Nintendo Switch, Steam, Xbox, and Windows on July 16th. This game is an absolutely adorable and magical cooking management sim. You’ll be playing as a young witch named Flora, who runs a magical kitchen and shop. At the shop you’ll be able to concoct magical potions, meals, teas, and pastries for the townsfolk. Of course, there’s secrets to be discovered and a beautiful 8-bit world to traverse. As you run your shop and export deliveries, you’ll get to know the town and its inhabitants (both day and night crowds) a bit better. Build your skills and business reputation by catering the town with your magic.
SCHiM
This is one of the most creative games I’ve seen yet, and I’m really looking forward to getting my hands on it. SCHiM will be releasing on July 18th on Nintendo Switch, Steam, and Playstation. In this game, you’ll play as a schim (a lost soul of sorts) that has lot its owner. In order to reunite with your owner you must work your way through the shadows of the world around you. It’s a creative puzzle adventure brought to life in a really unique way. The graphics are very different and while at first it feels simple, it adds an extra level of abstract artistry to the game.
Midnight Ramen
I haven’t really heard much about this game yet, but I think already love it. I hope it comes ti the Nintendo Switch soon. It will be releasing on Steam on July 23rd. Taking inspiration from Coffee Talk, Midnight Ramen, is about a man who runs his late-night ramen shop alongside his apprentice. Having a late-night shop is sure to bring in an interesting crowd, and this is no exception. Every night, you’ll be in charge of creating your customers perfect ramen dish. In exchange, you’ll learn more about their lives and be able to help them through their conflicts.
The Star Named Eos
The Star Named Eos is about discovering the truth behind your mother’s disappearance. It will be available on Steam, Playstation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch on July 23rd. While the topic may seem heavier than your average cozy game, the art style and navigation is beautifully down. In a hand drawn world, you’ll use your photogram[hy skills the environments around you. By recreating old photos from the past, you’ll be able to follow along your mother’s footsteps. The clues you piece together will slowly bring the bigger picture to light.
