Character Skins We Need To See In Star Wars Battlefront 2

Over the past few months, many have noticed EA and Dice’s valiant efforts in turning Star Wars Battlefront 2 into a solid experience. The updates to the game plus the recent movie release seems to have motivated the Star Wars faithful into giving it another try. With the game becoming popular for more positive reasons, I’ve compiled my favourite skins that fans of the long running franchise may love to see in Battlefront 2. Cue the Star Wars theme!

Character Skins We Need To See In Star Wars Battlefront 2

There’s no need to go into much detail, Star Wars Battlefront 2 started off as a mess. Microtransactions, progression, limited game modes, blah blah blah, we all know the story by now. People were disappointed, and rightfully so. But it seems as though EA and Dice have turned the franchise from a mess into a pretty awesome Star Wars game. And of course, one of the most enjoyable sides to playing Battlefront 2 is playing as a hero or villain. Yes, there are a fair amount of characters that could be added to the decent sized list. But Battlefront 2 could also do with a few more iconic skins for existing characters. In this list, I’ll be exploring some skin ideas for Battlefront 2 while trying to remain PG. So please, don’t grill me about slave Leia, yeah?

Darth Maul

Maul's look from Clone Wars would be sweeeeeeet!

Maul’s look from Clone Wars would be sweeeeeeet!

Let’s start with an easy one. Darth Maul’s look from Clone Wars is pretty impressive and I’m sure this is one of the more popular requests from players. It’s hard to disagree. His classic look combined with his more visible robot legs looks really neat. Another idea some have suggested is the hooded Maul look we’ve seen in Episode I. Maul is for sure a popular character in Battlefront 2 and his lack of current skins could definitely do with the addition of two rather cool looking versions of himself.

Luke Skywalker

Being the poster boy of the franchise for decades, Luke seems to be missing a few classic looks from his fairly decent selection of skins. My favourite suggestion has to be pilot Luke from Episode IV, but what about his iconic looks from Dagobah or Bespin? Even his older look from The Last Jedi could be a cool addition to Battlefront 2. Either way, Luke could definitely benefit from some more classic looking versions of himself.

Boba Fett

It’s tough to recommend a ton of skins for Boba Fett, considering he has one main armour we see him wear throughout the film series. But a decent amount of fans, including myself, have pondered the idea of Boba wearing different types of armour.

Many fans suggest Jango Fett as an additional character, but I imagine his skills and abilities won’t be much different from Boba. It’s unlikely that he would be added as a new character, so, how about we give Boba the option to wear Jango Fett’s armour from Episode II? It looks pretty cool and would be a nice way to pay homage to his late father. The new Mandalorian armour we see in, well, The Mandalorian, could also be a great option. I’m not fussed, so long as Dice show more love to the coolest looking bounty hunter in the galaxy.

Han Solo

Harrison Ford looking cool as always. Battlefront 2 skins

Harrison Ford looking cool as always.

Alright I know he has a whole bunch of skins but what can I say? Han Solo is my favourite character from the Star Wars universe, and Ford’s rugged old-man look from The Force Awakens would be amazing to see in Battlefront 2. Granted, looking age 70 but moving as if he was 30 in-game might look weird. But hey, Palpatine seems to be moving pretty well, and he’s like what, 145? No?

Another skin could be his iconic Episode IV look which I’m pretty sure I saw in a trailer for the game. Or maybe a skin when he was in half stormtrooper gear? I don’t care, I just want more skins for my main man!

Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader

Vader from Star Wars Rebels.

Vader from Star Wars Rebels.

Okay, let’s get the easier option out the way. We need some sort of battle damaged Vader look and there are two ways around this. Either Episode VI with his helmet off, or his look from Star Wars Rebels where a piece of his mask is missing. Personally, I’d like to see the hooded Anakin skin. I know he’s technically Anakin Skywalker, a hero that already exists in the game. But I’m not so sure hooded Anakin is much of a hero at that point in the story. He was gradually transitioning into Darth Vader so I feel as though the skin could be an option for Vader.

The hero Anakin on the other hand could do with a few variations of himself, the most glaring being his padawan appearance in Episode II. Anakin/Vader is a main figure in the franchise and a strong, popular character in Battlefront 2. So, extra skins could definitely benefit players who are becoming tiresome of his same look.

Chewbacca

Chewbac-kpack... see what I did there?

Chewbac-kpack… see what I did there?

There’s only one skin for this lad, mainly because he doesn’t seem to wear a lot of clothes. But, also because this next suggestion is pure nostalgia and one the community constantly mentions. Chewie with C-3PO on his back would be a God-sent skin for many Star Wars fans. Just imagine C-3PO with his anxious comments as you battle the dark side. It’s such a memorable look from Episode V that it HAS to be included in Battlefront 2. I’m not so sure how Chewie’s roll animation would look in-game but at this point, I’m not too bothered. Dice, EA, get this skin in-game!

These are my favourite skins that I would love to see added to Battlefront 2, but what would you like to see? Is there anything I’ve missed apart from Leia’s slave costume? Don’t be shy to drop a comment!

  1. I would personally love to see Qui-Gon Jinn and Mace Windu in the game. Great article, Atilla! Thanks for sharing.
