Herobrine’s Mansion is one of the first adventure maps you would hear about back in the day. It was made by Hypixel in 2012, and it was one of the first adventure maps that you would encounter back then.

The premise of the map is very simple. You have to defeat the infamous Minecraft villain – Herobrine. Then, the player will have to explore numerous locations to battle Herobrine’s minions and other powerful bosses.

As you go further down the map, your equipment advances as you collect more things and explore different areas, which are well done design-wise. All in order, to get you slowly ready for the battle against Herobrine.

The best part about this map is that it’s also multiplayer compatible, and it’s even recommended to be played with your friends.

The Temple of Notch is one of the most famous Minecraft maps out there. Every Minecraft player has seen it at least once. It’s a remarkable map that isn’t anything special by its contents, but it’s really nostalgic to play it again after a couple of years.

The player gets spawned in a forest, on a path that leads to a well, in which you have to throw the gold ingot that you get by default. Next, you will unlock the giant stone gates hidden in a mountain, which will lead you down to a valley where Notch’s face is engraved in the large mountain in front of you.

This map is a Redstone contraption. It is very short and was made solely to demonstrate what could be done with Redstone in Minecraft. This may not seem impressive today, but back in 2011, the players were amazed by this build.

You had a 50/50 chance to either get killed by Notch, or to get plenty of diamonds and gold.

Xbox Tutorial World is one of the most nostalgic Minecraft maps, especially for Xbox console players. It’s the map where they had their first encounter with Minecraft’s gameplay. It’s the place that taught them all about the game.

The map itself is pretty simple. It was a part of the Minecraft Xbox Edition tutorial, and the map was made to introduce the players into the basics of the game. It had multiple sequences where you would learn how to break things, fish, craft, build, and so on. Overall, the map would teach you basic game mechanics.

You can download the map yourself if you are interested in playing it. Like The Temple of Notch, it isn’t rich in content, but it surely is filled with nostalgia.

The Dropper is one of the most well-known Minecraft adventure maps that introduced a new style of gameplay with it. It combines aspects of the adventure game mode with semi-parkour. It was published for the first time in 2012 – roughly ten years ago.

The main goal of this map is to go through multiple levels in which you have to land in water from an incredible height. It may sound easy, but as you progress, the levels get gradually harder and the water block gets smaller. Making it a real challenge after quite some time.

It’s a relatively fun map with high replay value. It features many different themes which the player can experience.

You should definitely check out the map, regardless if this is the first time you have ever heard about it, as it genuinely has so much to offer besides the classic feeling of nostalgia.

You should also try playing it with friends, as that would be very fun, as the map is already multiplayer compatible. There is a recent video of Captain Sparklez replaying the map with one of his friends, so you should definitely check that out.

You could’ve probably guessed the number one is going to be Sky Block. Its one of the most recognizable Minecraft maps out there.

There isn’t a player who didn’t hear about skyblock at some point or another, as it’s present on almost every Minecraft multiplayer server as a special game mode.

The reason why this survival map is so popular is that it’s so simple yet so fun and challenging. You start on a small island with only one tree and a chest which contains some crucial resources. It can be frightening how you are unable to do so many things at first because of the scarcity of resources, but later as you progress, you can even travel to multiple dimensions and build large mansions in the sky.

As I already said, this map is so popular that it became a special game mode that is available on almost every major Minecraft server.

You can play it in single-player and multiplayer without a problem. It’s only up to your preference. In SkyBlock, even the sky is not the limit.
