MK11 successfully launched just over a year ago, and the popular franchise has featured many interesting characters from various franchises over the years. With news being expected regarding details of Kombat Pack 2, here are 5 characters I would love to see feature in the most brutal fighting game of all time.
5. John Wick
OK, I get it. Yes, Keanu Reeves seems to be everywhere nowadays. I know some of the MK faithful won’t want this, but I would personally love to see John Wick in MK11. And it seems like i’m not the only one.
Ed Boon has previously stated he would want John Wick to appear in MK11, and in the past has jokingly confirmed him as a character. It’s not difficult to see John Wick in the world of Mortal Kombat. His violent hand to hand combat combined with his famous one-liners would be perfect for MK. His presence could please many fans of both franchises.
4. RoboCop
Detroit’s Cybernetic police officer could be a solid addition to the MK11 roster, given his violent enforcement tendencies and tank like armour. Some datamines have revealed items coded as “ROB”, raising speculation on his potential crossover appearance.
However, it seems this character is unlikely to appear given that the reported item names are too vague. This combined with the fact that Boon hasn’t teased much regarding RoboCop puts him on the unlikely list. But the idea of RoboCop facing Terminator in a modern setting could be pretty incredible. The two have faced off against each other in the past in comics and video games. Maybe a reunion on MK11?
3. Doomguy
While his heavy use of ranged weapons may be tricky to implement into a varied move list, Doomguy fits perfectly into the Mortal Kombat universe. His sheer brutal nature would be great to explore as a MK11 character, and I can’t imagine the multiple directions NetherRealm could go with his fatalities.
Interestingly enough, Bethesda seemed to be flirting with a possible collaboration with NetherRealm. The interaction appeared on Twitter between Doom’s official page and MK’s beloved co-creator, Ed Boon.

Another interesting situation that enhances rumours of this possible collaboration was noted during Bethesda’s E3 conference. In a conference that provided insight into Doom Eternal’s online mode, Bethesda showed off a gameplay trailer that features an announcer exclaiming “Final round, fight!” towards the end. This of course is a phrase synonymous with the MK series. Coincidence? Maybe. But hopefully not.
2. Pennywise
Another character jokingly teased by Ed Boon in the past, Pennywise would be an excellent addition to the current MK11 character roster. No datamines or leaks regarding this one and it seems unlikely, given that he probably would have been implemented for marketing reasons during It Chapter Two’s release.
We’ve seen many horror characters in previous MK titles, inlcuding: Jason Vorhees, Freddy Krueger and Leartherface. How cool would it be to see Pennywise dancing on a dead corpse during his outro?
1. The Mask
Undeniably an underrated character and one that I severely miss seeing on a screen. Given that he seems to be forgotten about, it appears that Mortal Kombat is the only place we could see The Mask return anytime soon. He who wears the mask is granted supernatural powers leading to chaos, violence and a loss in sanity. Isn’t that a perfect description for a MK11 character?
If you know anything about The Mask, you know that creating a move list around his abilities will not be challenging at all. The Mask has so many abilities and so many items he’s known to use that I imagine the creative team at NetherRealm could truly create a fun character to use. Don’t you just love the idea of The Mask and Joker battling eachother in ruthless fashion?
Did I miss out on anyone? Is there a character you would love to see join the world of Mortal Kombat? Be sure to let me know with a comment below!
James kroeger
Some characters I would love to see in mk11 would be ash williams, he fit in great, the ego of johnny cage just more violent, plus his resourceful nature opens the door to other things like using the map in fatal blows or fatalities. someone else who would fit in great is jonah hex because he is similar to erron black but his abilities could lead to abilities that make you fight in the undead world where things are harder for the opponent making him a very “controlling” fighter.
