5 Character Suggestions for Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled

Beenox have done a great job remaking a gem in the Crash Bandicoot series with their latest release, Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled. Going a step further than the original, Beenox have included a fair variety of customisables for karts and characters, including character specific outfits that look pretty sweet! There are currently 26 playable characters and Beenox have confirmed many more on the way. Here are 5 unconfirmed characters I'd love to see in Crash Team Racing!

5 Additional Character Suggestions for Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled

1. Rilla Roo

Rilla Roo made his Crash Bandicoot debut in the not so popular Crash Bash, and we haven’t seen much of him since. In fact, we haven’t seen any of him. If you’ve played Crash Bash, you may remember Roo bopping around stages, dragging around his long kangaroo tail with his very questionable red and white trousers. This guy also had one of THE most annoying taunts in the game. If you know what I’m talking about, you know.

A rare appearance by Roo in the franchise: Crash Bash

We don’t really know much about this half gorilla, half kangaroo… thing… other than the fact that he resembles Dingodile in terms of his size, some physical features and play-style in Crash Bash. He also obeys Uka Uka as his master so it seems like he’s a pretty evil fella! Rilla Roo feels under-utilised and I would love to explore a little more of him in CTR: Nitro-Fueled.

2. N.Brio

Doctor Nitrus Brio, Cortex’s first sidekick debuted in the first Crash Bandicoot game, and I must say, his loyalty to so many different characters makes him a rather questionable gentleman! Seriously, this guy started as Cortex’s right hand man, worked against him in Cortex Strikes Back, only to then join forces with N. Tropy. Oh, he also starts working with Cortex again. Yikes!

N. Brio cooking up: N. Sane Trilogy

N. Brio had quite an impact on the six year-old me, as I distinctly remember his creepy transformation into what I can only describe as the Hulk’s bald cousin. The last we saw of Brio was in the awesome N. Sane Trilogy remake. His return, potentially with his “Hulk” form as a customisable skin would be a great addition to the current roster.

3. Nina Cortex

Nina Cortex is Neo Cortex’s beloved niece, though some fans have suggested she is in fact his daughter (Crash Bandicoot drama!). Nina has appeared in many of the newer generation Crash Bandicoot games, predominantly featuring in the kart-racing titles. Nina is said to be smarter than her uncle (dad?) but how would she fare on the old school CTR tracks?

Nina & The Gang: Crash Twinsanity

Interestingly enough, both Nina and N. Brio’s faces appear on banners in Cortex’s Castle, a fairly popular racetrack in CTR. Some fans are suggesting that Beenox may be teasing with said feature, so let’s hope we get an update on Team Cortex soon!

4. Pasadena O’Possum

Pasadena appears in two Crash titles as a playable character: Crash Tag Team Racing and the mobile game Crash Racing. She is presented as a rather competitive racing champion who has good relations with Team Bandicoot. Considering she’s a rather successful racer, Pasadena would of course be a perfect fit for CTR. It would also be nice to see a friendlier looking face among so many of the creepy looking “Evil” characters.

5. Koala Kong

Koala Kong is another OG character from the world of Crash Bandicoot (yes, I did just use OG and Crash Bandicoot in the same sentence). Much like Rilla Roo, Kong feels under-utilised, making appearances in only 2 games (3 if you count the cameo in Crash Twinsanity). Kong doesn’t really talk much, but what we do know about him is what he lacks in brain power, he tries to compensate with muscle.

Koala Flexin’: N. Sane Trilogy

Considering how rarely he features throughout the series, Kong would be a neat addition to the gang. His signature taunt revolves around him beating his chest and roaring like the beast he is, so maybe we can get a King Kong referencing legendary skin? Sounds cool to me!

Well, those were the 5 characters I’d want to see in CTR: Nitro-Fueled. Beenox have announced that Spyro, Tawna and the trophy girls will be joining the roster in the future, but who would you like to see? Be sure to let us know, drop a comment below and keep on drifting!
