Next-Gen Xbox Consoles Rumored Announcement At E3

The next generation of video game consoles are closing in as the industry buffs itself full of rumors regarding what we'll see from the market leaders. While there's already been talk of both the presumably named Playstation 5 and Xbox Scarlett consoles, a rather intriguing leak has come about with some rather exciting information about Microsoft's leap into next-gen territory.

Playstation 5 and Xbox Scarlett?
Rumors continue to make their way into the gaming community as the French website JeuxVideo has revealed possible information detailing part of Microsoft's game plan for this year's E3 event. The Xbox console manufacterurs are said to be gearing up for a full reveal of the next in line of Xbox hardware with two new models scheduled to hit the market in 2020.

While we've known for awhile the next generation of Microsoft gaming hardware has been codenamed "Xbox Scarlett", this tasty rumor suggests that not one but two models are in the works. Codenamed "Lockhart" and "Anaconda", these two next generation consoles are looking to target both the casual and hardcore audience of gaming.

The Lockhart device is said to be catered towards the more casual crowd as a discless device centered more towards digital gaming and comes with a cheaper retail price. While the Anaconda device will be more comparable to this gen's Xbox One X console focusing more on the full packaged deal presumably equipped with a disc drive, higher performance specs and a much higher price tag.

There's also a spec sheet with a few leaks of the hardware we can expect from the two next-gen Xbox consoles, though, there has been no official confirmation any of these are legitament. Both consoles appear with identical CPU and SSD 1 TB hard drives, while the Anaconda console boasts more powerful GPU and RAM. While most of these specs are all unofficial, JeuxVideo was, at the very least, comfortable confirming the presence of SSD in both consoles.

Also in the leak, Microsoft still intends to announce a discless Xbox One model in the near future. Along with the new consoles, Halo Infinite was also reported to be a launch title for the new Xbox consoles, but also coming to the Xbox One devices as a cross platform release. Ninja Theory's new game — which is currently an untitled Microsoft exclusive — was also detailed for a release in early 2020.

Per usual, we should take all rumors with a grain of salt but the leak states that Microsoft will announce these next-gen consoles at E3 2019 with a full launch coming in the Fall of 2020. Stay tuned for more details regarding these latest rumors regarding these leaks.
