Recent rumors and leaked retail listings gave Switch owners a glimmer of hope that the original 2010 apocalyptic action-adventure title, Darksiders, is headed over to the hybrid console. Those rumors appear to be true as THQ Nordic has officially unveiled a new trailer for the 2016 'Warmastered Edition' that is indeed headed over to the Switch.
The port heading over to the Switch shouldn't be too surprising as the game has also been ported over to Nintendo's previous home console, the Wii U. As many already know, the Wii U bumbled its way through its short life span allowing the Switch to pick up many of the failed system's otherwise stellar game selections, including Bayonetta 2, Super Mario Kart 8, and apparently the Darksiders Warmastered Edition.
Darksiders III recently released on the PS4, Xbox One and PC with a long six year gap between it and Darksiders II. With the aptly named 'Deathinitive Edition' of Darksiders II released in 2015, a port of the sequel almost seems necessary at this point to keep Switch owners in the loop of the series.
Darksiders Warmastered Edition is releasing on the Switch on April 2, 2019. The game is receiving both a physical and digital release.
