Originally Dead or Alive 6, the sequel to Koei Tecmo's hit 3D fighter, was supposed to be released on February 15th, 2019. However, it was just announced yesterday that the game will be delayed to March 1st. The producer and director of the game, Yohei Shimbori, stated that they wanted to use more time to polish and balance the game before release. He thanked fans for their patience and apologized for the inconvenience.
Another possible reason for the delay is less competition. As on February 15th, Jump Force, Far Cry: New Dawn and Crackdown 3 are also released which could be considered larger releases than Dead or Alive 6. Along with those, Anthem also comes out a week later which is another heavily anticipated title. With the new release date, the only games DOA6 is somewhat clashing with now are Devil May Cry 5, and less so Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
The DOA6 official Twitter page may also be teasing a demo may be coming as well. This tweet mentions "Perhaps the time has come to give our fighters a chance to TEST their skills". It's not an official announcement but this wording and emphasis on "test" may be hinting at a demo or beta test coming.
