Bungie Adjust Forge Difficulty in Destiny 2 Black Armory

Bungie have adjusted the power level requirements for the new Volundr Forge activity in the Destiny 2 Black Armory update.

Bungie Adjust Forge Difficulty in Destiny 2 Black Armory
Destiny 2's Black Armory update launched earlier this week along with the brand-new Volundr Forge. Upon player feedback, Bungie have announced that they’ve made some important adjustments to guardian’s power level requirements to complete the activity.

Most of the Destiny community are unhappy with Bungie for making the new Forge activity too difficult to complete for most players. As things stood, guardians would face off against Cabal enemies ranging between 615 and 630 power level. Many believed that this gap was not logical because one day before the update, the power level cap stood at 600.

This meant that players were forced to grind out their daily/weekly powerful gear challenges to raise their power level in order to stand a chance at completing the Forge. Given that much of the new content within Black Armory is locked behind completing the activity for the first time, a lot of Destiny 2 players are upset by this.

These players had been looking forward to playing through the new Black Armory content on day one. Instead they were being forced to repeat old content that they've been playing for months to get there. Depending on their power level, it could’ve taken up to several weeks to be able to enjoy the fresh content.

Certain members of the Destiny community suggested what would’ve been a sound fix for this issue. They mentioned that if Bungie implemented the power level increase last week, when Season of the Forge first launched, then players would’ve had a whole week to prepare. This would’ve allowed the max power level players to have a greater chance in completing the Forge on day one of the update.

Bungie have indeed taken all the feedback into consideration and adjusted the forge’s difficulty, which many see as a positive move from the developers. It's worth noting though, that the new power level requirements have not been made clear in the developer's news post. Also, all of the above will likely still apply to under-leveled players.

Black Armory is the first dose of new content included in the Forsaken Annual Pass. This is Bungie’s new formula of releasing fresh end-game Destiny 2 content in small doses for a whole year. Since this is the first time Bungie have tried this format, it's not surprising that they've run into some issues.

Additional Black Armory content is scheledued to launch very soon with another new Forge activity alongside a brand-new Raid, both releasing in-game tomorrow. And more new Black Armory content is set to arrive throughout the remainder of the year and into early 2019.

Destiny 2: Forsaken and the new Forsaken Annual Pass are now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
