1C Entertainment has unveiled a new official atmospheric trailer for its upcoming cyberpunk-influenced PC real-time strategy game developed by Ice Code Games, Re-Legion, while sharing new details on the game’s development.
In the top-down isometric RTS, players become a prophet in a futuristic technocratic society where they can define their own belief system, convert citizens, and upgrade them into fighting units to rid the city of non-believers.
Players will take on the role of Elion, a strong leader who emerges to rid the world of its misery by becoming a leader and prophet. As Elion increases his influence and power, he turns non-believing citizens into his faithful followers—introducing a very different resource management system where ordinary people are converted into “Adepts” that drive the player’s ascent to dominance.
Here is a short list of some of the features you can expect from the game Re-Legion’s below:
- Unique RTS mechanic where new units are acquired by converting citizens into followers
- Vivid futuristic cyberpunk visuals and dark atmosphere
- Mature story that offers profound background and moral choices
- Build your own cult using an original Dogmas system that ensures replayability
- Special territory control mechanics that incorporate hacking techniques
According to Nikolay Baryshnikov, CEO of 1C Entertainment, Re-Legion will focus on the highly replayable single player experience that has excited PC gamers most.
“Re-Legion presents interesting philosophical concepts relevant in today’s world in the context of a fresh take on the RTS genre.
“We’ve decided to focus on the single player aspect of Elion’s journey to messianic power to create the most satisfying experience for players, with the possibility of adding multiplayer elements after launch.”
The overall direction of the player’s cult is determined by the beliefs they choose, allowing different playthroughs to have a very different experience. From a merciful religion to one that despises non-believers, each one of dozens of dogmas defines the way in which the cult will pursue its goals. But whichever path players choose on any playthrough, their followers will all work together to build a strong and powerful cult.
Re-Legion is planned to be released for PC some time during Q1 of 2019.
