Struggling to find out which Black Ops 4 weapons are best for you? You should always be using the absolute best tools for the job, so we're going to give you five great classes to ensure you always have the advantage against your opponents

5 Great Classes for Black Ops 4
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is undoutedbly one of the hottest and freshest COD titles in years. With millions of players picking up the game at launch, it looks like the title is going to be a huge success. With so many new changes and mechanics in Multiplayer, some people are definitely going to have trouble adjusting to the new gameplay, and that's completely expected and understandable.

Today we're going to give you 5 great classes to use in Black Ops 4 to make sure you dominate your opponents, with classes for almost every play style, including a bonus class or two for when you just wanna have some stupid fun. Without further ado, lets get started!

Black Ops 4 has many strong SMG's, with the Cordite being one of the best

CLASS 1: UNSTOPPABLE

  • Cordite SMG
    • -Reflex
    • -Grip
    • -Long Barrel
  • Stim Shot
  • Scavenger
  • Dexterity
  • Perk 3 Greed
    • Ghost
    • Dead Silence
This class is a true menace. The Cordite is an extremely strong SMG with a large ammo pool to draw from, along with a reasonably fast fire rate and decent damage profile. The reflex sight helps to augment the iron sights, which aren't awful by any means but aren't the best, you could save a point elsewhere by removing the reflex but that is down to personal preference. The Grip helps to reduce the fairly strong kick when firing at full auto, and the Long Barrel helps to push your damage range out a bit further when engaging outside of close range.

The Stim Shot is a great choice for your gear, allowing you to heal far more often than you otherwise would be able to. Without regenerating health, the ability to heal is incredibly important, especially with a class like this that encourages a run and gun playstyle.

Scavenger will help you to stay stocked on ammo, the Cordite has a good ammo pool but does fire fairly fast and you'll almost definitely run out of ammo on longer killstreaks. Dexterity improves weapon handling whilst mantling and climbing, along with allowing for faster weapon swaps and improved accuracy whilst jumping.

Finally, Ghost of course allows you to stay off the minimap, an invaluable benefit, and Dead Silence keeps your footsteps incredibly quiet, allowing you to play a flanking playstyle without your loud clunky feet slapping the floor and alterting everyone nearby.

Black Ops 4's Rampart 17 is the king of headshots, causing massive damage to anyone unfortunate enough to be within its sights

CLASS 2: HEADSHOT KING

  • Rampart 17
    • Reflex
    • High Caliber
    • Long Barrel
  • Stim Shot
  • Scavenger
  • Dexterity
  • Perk 3 Greed
    • Ghost
    • Dead Silence
This class is one that your enemy should fear. The Rampart is an extremely strong weapon with decent handling and insane damage at range, offset by a slightly longer than usual reload time and heavy kick. The gun is not only a monster at almost all ranges, but the high recoil system actually makes it very easy to take advantage of the extra damage from headshots, hence the class name.

Reflex cleans up the iron sights of the Rampart, which can be a bit cumbersome at range. High Caliber helps to boost Headshot damage, ensuring anyone in your sights meets a quick and painful end. Long Barrel pushes your damage range out even further than usual, meaning that even enemies far away will still be hit hard by the Rampart.

The Gear and Perks are the same for this class as Class 1, so I won't repeat myself here. These are all great choices for self-sustain along with ensuring you're always ready to fight and can stay off the minimap and out of your enemy's earshot. The Rampart is a common weapon to see in Black Ops 4, so you could replace Scavenger with something like Flak Jacket for objective modes if you would prefer.

Black Ops 4 has few weapons as potent as the Maddox RFB, a strong and versatile rifle

CLASS 3: THORN IN THEIR SIDE

  • Maddox RFB
    1. Reflex
    2. Quickdraw
    3. Stock
  • Body Armour
  • Scavenger
  • Dexterity
  • Dead Silence
Now this is much more of a classic style class. The Maddox RFB is one of the best guns in the game, comparable to weapons like the KBAR from Infinite Warfare. With a decent fire rate and hefty damage, whilst also lacking a high kick seen in guns like the Rampart, the Maddox is a great choice. The iron sights aren't bad, but again I've elected to use a reflex sight. You could replace this with a Holo or ELO if you prefer, or remove it to spend the points elsewhere. Quickdraw improves weapon handling by allowing you to aim down sights faster, essential for getting accurate shots on your opponent and winning gunfights. Finally, Stock allows you to move faster whilst aiming down sights, improving your corner peeking ability and allowing you to potentially avoid bullets whilst in a gunfight.

Body Armour is new for this class, Stim Shot is still a great choice but with this class already having one of the best weapons equipped with attachments designed to help you win gunfights easily, that bit of extra protection from Body Armour can prove very useful when running into unexpected encounters.

The perks are again nothing new. The Maddox has a decently high fire rate so Scavenger can be very helpful. Dexterity is always a great choice, though something like Skulker could work very well with this class, allowing you to quickly snake around corners aiming down sights with the stock and taking enemies by surprise with quick, accurate shots. Dead Silence is always a great perk choice, but could be replaced here by Ghost depending on your preference.

I've left a few point slots empty in this class, because this class is already simply that good. These extra points could be used on Primary Gunfighter to have an extra attachment on your Maddox, a secondary for emergency use, or even another perk using a Greed wildcard.

Black Ops 4's Swordfish feels like the powerful burst guns of past, and is a monster on the battlefield

CLASS 4: BURSTY BOI

  • Swordfish
    • Reflex
    • Quickdraw
    • Long Barrel
    • Primary Gunfighter
      • High Caliber II
  • Body Armour
  • Tactical Mask
  • Dexterity
  • Dead Silence
Remember when I said your enemies should fear the Rampart 17? Well here's another one that should have them shaking in their boots. If you've used the Swordfish default class, you'll already know that this weapon is an absolute monster. This 4 burst DMR is a certified death dealer, almost guaranteeing death to anybody found within its sights. Burst fire guns aren't for everyone, but this is one everybody should at least try. I'm not a huge fan of burst fire guns myself, but this gun takes the cake when it comes to power and accuracy.

The Reflex sight augments the original built-in iron sights, which aren't bad by any means, I just personally prefer a reflex. You could definitely make do with the irons and replace the reflex with a point spent elsewhere though. Quickdraw allows for faster target acquisition and better accuracy, with the Long Barrel ensuring you remain deadly at your optimum mid to long range. Finally, High Caliber is a great choice for boosting your already hefty damage output, with High Caliber II offering bonus Headshot and Upper Chest damage, turning this cannon of death into a straight up Weapon of Mass Destruction.

Body Armour allows you to take a couple of extra shots, giving you an extra bit of wiggle room in engagements.

Tactical Mask is a great choice in Black Ops 4, especially if you're on Objective game mode player. Whilst grenade spam is definitely reduced in this title, Tac Mask reduces the effect of the deadly 9 Bang grenade, along with the Counter UAV, Reactor Core and more. It is generally a solid choice, but could be replaced with Flak Jacket to negate explosive damage. Dexterity improves accuracy with jump shots something which works very well with this weapon, along with improving general handling and swapping speeds. We already know how good Dead Silence is, but it could be replaced with Ghost seeing as you should be trying to stay at medium range with this class.

Black Ops 4's gameplay style compliments stealth and flanking quite well, making this class ideal for the sneakier players amongst us

CLASS 5: SILENT BUT DEADLY

  • MX9
    • Reflex
    • Suppressor
    • Stock
  • Stim Shot
  • Tac Mask
  • Cold Blooded
  • Perk 3 Greed
    • Ghost
    • Dead Silence
Everyone needs a stealth class, that one choice that allows you to get right in amongst the enemy when they least expect it, rendering their UAVs and Acoustic Sensors useless. This is the class for exactly that. The choice of the MX9 might be a tad controversial. Many people prefer the Spitfire for close range dominance, or the G4 for its unrivaled stability, but I feel the MX9 is a great choice for this type of class. With a fast fire rate and decent reload speed & magazine size, the MX9's only downfall is at range. This class aims to encourage a flanking and rushing playstyle to negate the gun's mid range disadvantages.

The MX9 is equipped with a Reflex sight to negate the fairly clunky iron sights it comes with by default. The Suppressor keeps you off the minimap when firing so as not to alert nearby enemies, and the Stock helps to peek corners quickly and avoid bullets so that you're at an advantage if you do get caught off guard.

When you're rushing, you'll be getting into engagements regularly, hence why I've chosen to use the Stim Shot in this class.

Tac Mask is a great utility perk, though could stand to be replaced with Scavenger to negate the MX9's fairly liberal ammo usage. Cold Blooded stops AI killstreaks and systems from detecting you, preventing deaths and detections from killstreaks. Finally, we use Perk 3 Greed for Ghost and Dead Silence. You already know why, its just that good of a combo.

Black Ops 4's Paladin HB50 is a powerhouse. Good luck with the montage

BONUS CLASS: MONTAGE INCOMING

  • Paladin HB50
    • Stabilizer
    • Sight Loader
  • RK7 Garrison
    • Extended Mags
    • Laser Sight
  • Acoustic Sensor
  • Tactical Mask
  • Dexterity
  • Dead Silence
I'm not sure what it is about sniping in Black Ops 4, but it just doesn't feel that consistent right now, at least not to me. However, if you're adamant that you want to snipe, the Paladin HB50 is a good choice. Its the DSR 50 of this title, dealing heavy damage with a slower rechamber and reload time. Another good option is the Koshka, but with this being a later-game unlock, the Paladin will be great for the early game.

I've added the Stabilizer onto the Paladin to reduce the weapon's heavy idle sway when aimed down sights. It also allows you to hold your breath a little bit longer. the Sight Loader allows for both faster reloads, and reloads whilst aimed, both great tools in making your sniper more practical on the battlefield.

The RK7 Garrison is a great sidearm, a burst-fire pistol that allows quick and easy kills on unsuspecting enemies at closer range, as well as a vicious retaliation weapon when you're caught off guard. I gave it Extended Mags to increase its effectiveness, allowing you more rounds to kill enemies before you have to reload. I also attached a laser sight to this weapon, seeing as its a short-ranged pistol, having an improved hipfire ability can be a lifesaver.

The Acoustic Sensor will amplify the movements of any enemy not using Dead Silence, and seeing as you'll probably be hanging back a bit as a sniper, this can definitely help in catching sneaky flankers.

Tactical Mask will save you from being rushed and irradiated, the main worry of this class. Seeing as you'll probably be taking a more passive role in the fight, you're likely to get rushed with a 9 Bang or have a cheeky Firebreak try to burn you out of your spot. Having the increased survivability to these effects that Tactical Mask can provide is great, though you could replace this with Flak Jacket to avoid explosive damage, or Scavenger if you find yourself using the RK7 often.

Dexterity simply improves your ability to retaliate, allowing you to switch between pistol and sniper at light speed.

Dead Silence will help you flank your enemies when the time is right, and also generally just avoid detection by players using headphones. This could also be replaced with Ghost, but you do need to be moving for Ghost to have an effect. Either can work well in assisting you in hitting that 720 Double Y X Fakie Ladder Stall Glitch Noscope (no I don't really know what that is either)

CONCLUSION

Well there we have it, 5 great class choices for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, along with a bonus class out there for all you eagle-eyed snipers. Let us know what weapons you think are the best in the comments, and stay locked to Keengamer for all Black Ops 4 guides and news
