Wolfenstein III is confirmed by Bethesda, Although we do not have any specific details about the project, we can be sure that it will happen in the future.
The new information came out from Pete Hines, Bethesda vice president of global marketing and communications. Hines was interviewed by Metro and he spoke about the plans of the company for the coming years:
“Absolutely we’re making a Wolfenstein III […] They said on stage that they’re taking a break from the larger story. But we all have to see how that ends”, said Hines to Metro.
The “break from the larger story” is obviously Wolfenstein: Youngblood, a spin-off, which is planned to be released in 2019 and will be set in the 1980’s. The game will feature twin daughters of BJ Blazkowicz, Jessica and Sophia, continuing to fight the Nazis. Players will be able to play the game solo or in coop mode.
Of course, Bethesda will probably focus in the first place on their biggest projects that were announced at E3 2018. Those are Fallout 76, Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6. Anyway, Hines also suggested the new Dishonored game is in the works so it is nice to hear that another of their great IP’s has not been abandoned.
