11 Tips and Tricks for Dream League Soccer 2018

Dream League Soccer 2018 is one of the best Android and iOS football games. The game has great 3D graphics and gameplay. This is also a more original football game in which team management also comes in to play off the pitch as players need to build up stadiums and strengthen their squads to climb the leagues. If you haven’t played Dream League Soccer 2018, you can download the game from this Google Play page. Apple iOS users can add the game to their tablets and mobiles from this webpage. Here are a few DLS 2018 tips to get you started on your quest for football glory!

Attacking Play

Scoring goals is the name of the game, so your attacking play is crucial to winning matches. A is the primary shooting button in Dream League Soccer. Don’t press the A button too firmly as that will send shots blazing over the crossbar. Instead, a light tap of the A button will keep shots lower and ensure greater shot accuracy.

Shooting from outside the penalty box is usually wasteful. It’s hard to score from outside the penalty area in Dream League 2018 when the goalkeeper is on his goal line even in training mode. So, stick to shooting from inside the box to ensure better shot accuracy. The one advantage of long shots is that you can win corners from them if they draw a save from the goalkeeper.

The rainbow kick is a handy dribbling move in which a player flicks the ball up in the air over a defender. Some DLS 2018 players make good use of rainbow kicks to beat defenders and get clear on goal. You can pull off a rainbow kick by swiping up the center of your tablet or phone when running with the ball. Players can also flick the ball up with the rainbow kick in and around the penalty box to score some great volleys.

Defending

Solid defending will also give you a better chance of winning trophies in Dream League Soccer 2018. B is the button for standard tackles, but you can also slide tackle with the A button. Timing is crucial to tackling as a mistimed challenge from a central defender can leave a forward clear on goal. Players usually stick to tackling with the B button as they’re generally cleaner.

Never slide tackle a player from behind. Slide tackles from behind are the one sure way to pick up at least a yellow card, and you’ll often get red cards for them. Even lightweight tackles from behind with the B button will concede free-kicks.

Be careful not to pass to the other team’s players just outside or within the penalty box when clearing. Make sure you watch where you’re passing when you make short passes out of the penalty box. Pressing the C button to make long clearances into the other team’s half is usually safer.

Set-Piece Play

You can score quite a few goals with free kicks and corners if you practice them in the training mode. However, most players’ free kick shots don’t usually go in. You can actually score with more free kicks by playing a precise short pass to a forward in the penalty area just to left or right of the defensive wall. That can give you a clear short-range shot at goal that will probably go in if you can quickly turn with the forward.

Playing with 10 (or fewer) players

You won’t play with 10 men that often if you don’t go lunging in with tackles from behind. However, you will probably need to reshuffle your team when one of your players does get sent off. If a defender goes off, substitute a forward with a replacement defender to ensure that you don’t have any gap left in your defense. Then you will have a better chance of getting a draw or preserving a lead. In addition, switch your team to a defensive mode.

Formations and Tactics

Players, not formations, win matches. However, that doesn’t mean the formation you select won’t give you a better chance. The 4-4-2 might not be very original, but it’s a well-balanced formation that lots of real life football sides play with. With three forwards up front, you might score more goals with the 4-3-3 or 3-4-3. If you’re conceding lots of goals, then the 5-3-2 or 5-2-1-2 might reduce the number of goals scored against your team.

You can adopt your own tactics in a match. For example, some players play a counter-attacking game by quickly hoofing long balls (usually with goalkeepers) up the pitch to a forward player. That is an especially effective tactic when almost all the other team’s players are in your half of the pitch just after a corner.

You can also select an attacking, neutral or defensive mode. If you’re trailing at halftime, switch to attack to throw more players forward. However, select the defensive mode at halftime to pull more players back to defend a lead. Some players might even switch their formation to 5-3-2 or 5-2-1-2 at halftime to get men behind the ball when leading a match.

Strengthening Your Squad

Building a dream team is half the fun in Dream League Soccer 2018! The important thing to note when signing players is that each playing position has more essential attributes. High tackling, strength and heading ratings are more important for defenders. When signing forwards, sign players who have higher finishing, pace and acceleration ratings. Crossing and passing are generally the most essential ratings for midfield players.

When signing fullbacks and wingers, you’ve got to get players with higher stamina ratings. Players in those positions tire more quickly as their playing positions require more running. Pace and acceleration are also more essential attributes for fullbacks and wingers who need to outrun opposition players down the flanks.

Don’t forget that you need a squad of players as well as a first eleven. Players get injured and sent off (with a one match suspension) during games. Furthermore, you can also rotate your team more with larger squads to rest key players for more crucial league and cup matches. Make sure that you have enough players in reserve to cover all playing positions, and don’t sell your three best substitutes for the sake of strengthening the first team. About 19-22 players is a sufficient number for a squad.

Keep the Team Fresh

Players’ energy levels deplete with every game. Don’t let your team’s energy get too depleted. Turn the game off for a while about halfway through a single player season to fully replenish your side’s energy. Alternatively, you can keep the team fresher by substituting more players during matches or by selecting the Heal option. However, selecting the Heal option with regularity will have some impact on the club budget.

Now you can take on the world in Dream League Soccer 2018! Winning leagues in single player mode isn’t really that tricky when you’ve got a strong squad, but getting to the first division in multiplayer mode is a whole new ball game. Good luck!

Firstly, awesome game guys. Love playing it. However, as you progress through the game and play the elite division matches or all other matches over n over, the team’s abilities and reflexes diminish as opposed to the other teams getting stronger. Or if playing against a weaker team the players don’t play to their full potential. Please improve the gameplay there. Also, would love to play more matches in the Division. So either add more teams or give the option of home and away matches. Thanks.

This is just something that I felt or sensed after playing this game for a long time. If you upgrade your players too much, then the game will know that you are upgrading your players so that you can win, and therefore sort of nerfs the players without lowering the stats…. Now I don’t have physical proof to prove this, but I’m saying this based on real experience. I’ve had a all 100 rated team before, and I reset the game because of this. The only exception to this is when you buy a developed player right off the transfer market. What do you think about this? Am I the only one who felt like this? P.S. My friend from Luthuania once told me that there is a specific way to upgrade players’ stats so that they could be better than just upgrading without thinking. I begged for him to tell me, but he never did (this is also why I think there might be a possibility that I got pranked, but idk maybe it’s true!) Can anyone tell me about this?
