In an unexpected turn of events, CAPCOM has announced that Resident Evil 7: Biohoazard will be available for players in Japan starting May 24 on the Nintendo Switch. Fans should be excited to hear this news but must know one important thing about this version. It's known as the Cloud Edition.
This version of the game includes the full game and DLC but will only be playable if the player has a working internet connection. Japanese Switch owners can download a small 45 MB file from the eshop to start playing. They then must be connected to a stable internet connection to play the game through a cloud server. At this time there does not appear to be any way to download the full game onto your console.
There have been no announcements of this odd version of the game coming stateside or to other countries yet. The full game is available on all other consoles now worldwide.
