DICE Supposedly Working On Battle Royale Project

With a surge in popularity for battle royale games, such as PUBG and Fortnite, it is no surprise that DICE, who are responsible for many Battlefield titles, are reportedly working on a new battle royale project, for the upcoming Battlefield V.

DICE Reportedly Working On Battle Royale Project
Reports first surfaced from the tech-orientated site VentureBeat, who state that "EA’s DICE studio is testing a battle royale mode for Battlefield V that features similar gameplay to megahits like Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, according to someone with knowledge of the studio who asked to remain anonymous." The mode is still reportedly in testing, so it is unclear at this moment whether it will actually make it into Battlefield V, which is due to release later this year. However, if DICE do indeed decide to put this into the game, it will be no surprise after the immense growth in popularity of titles like PUBG.

From our previous article this year, we reported that Battlefield V is the next edition of the highly-popular Battlefield franchise, and is due to take place during the Second World War, which may draw the attention of some Call of Duty fans who are deterred by the futuristic setting of Black Ops 4. However, it does seem to be apparent that the world has gone crazy for battle royale.
