One of the best looking games during the early days of the Nintendo Switch was Octopath Traveler, a JRPG by Square Enix that harkens back to the roots of the genre like Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger. After much anticipation, the game's release date has been confirmed for July 13th, 2018.
The game uses an art style dubbed as HD 2D, using pixels to redefine the pixel art style in amazing ways. The game also offers 8 unique stories which each contain different characters who play fairly decently, albeit can use each other's abilities as secondary to their own, as shown by the latest footage of the game.
It's classic turned based combat with everything else one could ask for from a high budget old-school JRPG. It looks great and releases this July 13th, 2018.
