Darkest Dungeon Will be Available on the Switch on Jan 18th

The RPG made famous by its crushing difficulty and mental afflictions in one of the most lurid worlds portrayed in RPG history finally gets a release date for the Nintendo Switch. The insanity hits Switch fans on January 18th, and the beautiful and lurid of Darkest Dungeon should look stunning on the portable Nintendo Switch.

Darkest Dungeon made waves on PC when it came out. It had randomly generated dungeons, and characters could gain mental afflictions or die as they progressed through the hellish depths of the dungeon. These afflictions could cause PTSD-like stress, and players had to choose how far to advance and whether or not to use torches and let characters die or try to escape. On top of that, the characters sometimes needed time to recover outside of a dungeon, potentially drinking and sleeping around for a while, as you try to carry on with the rest of your crew.

Redhook has recently announced that Darkest Dungeon will be available on the Nintendo Switch e-shop on January 18th. It will cost $24.99 USD, the same price as the Steam and PS4 versions of the game.

On top of the actual game. Crimson Court ($9.99) and The Shieldbreaker ($3.99) DLC will be released and sold separately as well as a future release for The Color of Madness DLC.

It will be exciting to see this game on the Switch, and hopefully, this port will remain as great as the original. It's time to revel in the madness and lurid world of one of the most innovative and crushing RPG's of the decade.
