PUBG Smashes Its Own Record

Well, it's official the sensational hit of 2017, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (aka PUBG), has broken yet another record before the start of 2018. The game has now reached a stunning three million concurrent players - beating the likes of the classic Steam favourite Data 2, Team Fortress 2 and League of Legends.

PUBG Smashes Its Own Record
After hitting two million concurrent players, many critics of PUBG felt the game had reached its peak – a rather foolish judgement to make right? With the game coming out of early access with the 1.0 update, as well as a Xbox One release, the future of Brendan Greene's project looks bright, and with the game continuing to draw in players and smash the concurrent records, who knows what could be accomplished?

However, the games full release hasn't been without trouble. Despite the high concurrent player figures being a positive result for the PUBG team, its is obvious the servers cannot cope; this is evident in how laggy the game has been, the poor sound quality in the game, and in my personal twitter feed, as I have now had to unfollow the official PUBG account due to the high amounts of server maintenance tweets that appear on my feed. But, a lot of games commonly have trouble upon their launches, so hopefully this server issue will soon be fixed.

If you would like to try PUBG you can purchase it from Steam or the Microsoft Store
