The update, 'free' via Steam Early Access, adds new content for the spookiest of seasons – including new Halloween-themed enemies, traps and environments – as well as an early prototype of a multiplayer component to the game, and an array of user interface improvements. Phantom Halls is a side-scrolling comedy-horror game, a love letter to 80's B-movies, and an Steam Early Access fan favourite. A group of teens enters a haunted mansion and attempts to survive the night. Players can control multiple characters at the same time, leading to an experience that switches between slow-paced survival and frantic (and often hilarious) action.

Phantom Halls was first released via Steam Early Access in March, and since then, it has been receiving regular updates to further improve and develop the game. The most recent major addition to the game was Evil Dead 2 x Phantom Halls, a huge officially licensed update adding scenes, quests, characters and enemies from the 80's cult classic.

"Phantom Halls is the perfect game to play at Halloween, so we wanted to reward our loyal players with a seasonal update," said Incendium founder Llexi Leon. "You'll find scarecrows, vampires, pumpkin traps, a Pumpkin King and more."

The game is available to purchase via Steam Early Access for $9.99/£7.49.
