A new trailer has been released for the latest Tomb Raider movie featuring Alicia Vikander rather than Angelina Jolie, who had played the action heroine in tombs gone by.
The film appears to be taking a number of beats from the 2013 Tomb Raider game with Lara becoming stranded on an isolated island and facing off against a band of unsavoury paramilitary types. This time however, it's a handy tip off from her recently departed father that spurs Croft into setting off into the unknown.
Vikander looks the part, lacking the highly sexualised aspects of Jolie's Croft, and should provide the raw physicality that the video game version of Lara has brought with recent game instalments. The trailer does appear a little glossy but with any luck the film will provide the extra layer of grit we've come to expect from the die hard survivalist.
The film releases on the 16th of March 2018. For the trailer, look below.

I don’t know. The trailer is not good. Nothing surprising and well, Lara? F***ing young to be Lara 🙂
