Uncharted Games Ranked

Since 2007, developers Naughty Dog, have brought us six amazing Uncharted games and an amazing series. But, when it comes to ranking them which comes out on top? Does the new adventures of Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross trump Nathan Drake? Here is the Uncharted series ranked from worst to best.

Uncharted Games Ranked

6) Uncharted: Golden Abyss (2012)

Not heard of this one? I forgive you – a lot of gamers haven't heard of this Uncharted title. When it was first launched, the developers promised it would deliver a "console on-the-go experience" and to be fair there were some aspects. Firstly, the action set pieces did not feel they had lost the quality in terms of looks and performance. However, the game did lack the memorable moments the console games had; therefore meaning (apologies to PS Vita fans) this game is bottom of the list.

5) Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (2007)

With the incredible quality of its successors, it is easy to forget that Uncharted: Drakes Fortune (aka Uncharted 1) was released in 2007 meaning that it would have struggled to have the stunning graphics and performance from a game released in 2017. However, the game is still great, but it is clearly obvious Naughty Dog did not know whether to prioritise combat or story. This does show as the story timing is all over the place, and the combat is not as sharp or precise and even has a cartoonish feel to it. However, I still love this game and maintain a fundamental respect for this game, as it was the game that kickstarted a brilliant series of games.

4) Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception (2011)

A lot of similar articles seem to place this right down at the bottom of their lists, and I really don't know why – the game is great! It was really awesome to see a young Nathan Drake and how he first encountered my personal favourite Uncharted character Victor Sullivan (aka Sully). The set pieces in this game were absolutely epic – especially the one where Drake has to jump out of the cargo plane! However, it did not live up to the quality of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and could not match the graphics and performance of Uncharted 4: A Thieves End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy – forcing me to put it forth in this tough list.

3) Uncharted: The Lost Legacy (2017)

Well, now I find myself at the hardest point in this list. I knew what would be number one from the start, but I could not figure out three and two – I eventually did though. The game follows on from the events of the stunning Uncharted 4: A Thieves End and follows a new heroine Chloe Frazer (from Uncharted 2: Among Thieves) and Nadine Ross, who was first introduced in Uncharted 4: A Thieves End. The tag-team are in the search for the legendary 'Tusk of Ganesh' which part of a famous Hindu myth. The Lost Legacy has everything of a great Uncharted game, a great story, loveable characters, imposing villain, and fabulous graphics, but the main thing that lets it down is the open-world type feel which I feel slows the story down and stops Naughty Dog from doing what they do best – tell stories. Therefore, I have to give The Lost Legacy the bronze medal in third place.

2) Uncharted 4: A Thieves End (2016)

So the grand finale of Nathan Drake takes silver. Fans of the popular series waited a long time to see how Nathan Drake would pan out but it was worth waiting for. Naughty Dog produced a stunning masterpiece, and trumped Rise Of The Tomb Raider in all ways and means possible. Once again Uncharted 4: A Thieves End has all things that make the Uncharted great a great story, awesome characters (including Sully of course) and stunning graphics. Despite the introduction of a brother Nathan Drake never talked about before, and slow missions at times, the set pieces did not disappoint, and fans were met with a proper and satisfying end to Nathan Drake's unforgettable adventure.

1) Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (2009)

Whilst thinking about the rankings of this list there was no doubt in my mind what would be top of this list. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is a masterpiece and is quite frankly the best game I have played. For a game released in 2009, the set pieces are just phenomenal and top the likes of Hollywood blockbusters. I can assure you if you have never played this game, please do, you will be amazed, it is just brilliant and a absolute PS3 classic which will never be forgotten.

If you have never played the Uncharted series please do! It is an amazing series and one that will be a perpetual Playstation classic. Also, if you are in disagreement with my choices, I would like to get your thoughts and feelings why. Enjoy the Uncharted tribute video below:

Thank you! Finally, someone who agrees Uncharted 2 is better than 3. I am not sure why people think 3 is so great. I pretty much 100% agree with this listing.
