Gearbox has been lauded for its wacky and futuristic Borderlands series. And, it has been confirmed they are working on Borderlands 3. Well, Borderlands 3 may not be as close as you hoped.

Recently a site appeared called 'Project1v1.com' appeared. This website states the following:

Project 1v1 is the code name for Gearbox's top-secret, in-development, competitive first-person shooter that combines the action of fast-paced 1v1 first-person combat with the metagame strategy of a collectible card game.

As well as that quick synopsis, it discloses that Project 1v1 will have a Closed Technical Test this summer. You can sign up on Project1v1.com. The test will be on American servers, so international players may experience issues. This Technical Test will allow Gearbox to test online infrastructure and gain players' opinions on the game so future development can be influenced.

This Techincal Test contains three modes: Ranked, Challenge and Arena. Ranked mode matches you with an opponent based on player rating. Challenge mode allows you to challenge a friend. Finally, Arena allows you to challenge the current Arena champion.

Project 1v1 appears to be still in its early stages; however, hopefully, the Technical Test will reveal some more details on this mysterious first-person shooter.
